I voted good. This is the first version that I enjoyed enough to play for more than an hour. You guys are definitely on the right track. I do agree with some of the other posters, that the choices need to be made more meaningful. In the game I played my sovereign, one champion and their summons were all I needed to defeat everything that got in my way. Even though I had expanded badly and was far enough behind some of the AI that they demand tribute

I'm thinking diminishing return might be a good idea.

Frogboy, I understand where you are coming from in that you have put in a lot of work and there is some great stuff in Elemental. However, I can't help thinking that Elemental could really have used another couple months of development. Here's what I see as the key elements from those games. MoM - the ability to change the game world with magic, win the game through magical means. Dominions - I never played that one. Ascendancy - Unique abilities for each faction, engaging research tree. X-Com - I know this is blasphme, but I never liked X-Com. FFH2 - Having drastically different play mechanics and personalities for the different factions. MOO2 - Very deep faction creation syst
Having attack, defence and HP is enough. It takes away lots of interesting potential decisions. There should be at least a damage stat, acuracy stat, an armor stat, an evasion stat, and probably multiple magic damage and resistance types. Some special modifier would also be pretty cool. Stuff like +damage vs. certain unit types, multiple attacks, bleeding effects, stun effects and so on. Basically I feel the combat should be at least as complica

I'm mildly amazed that anyone could not know that you "work for" stardock. As far as I can tell you are stardock.
After being defeated I tried to start a new game. the generating map screen did not show up and this was the result. I tried starting new games a couple of times and got the same result. finally I quit and restarted the game and it worked fine.
My sovereing auto moved into combat while the daily report was still up. the text from the daily report showed through the battle screen.
A troll was able to move on top of my city without there being any battle. Nothing happened to be the city. The next turn the troll left and the city remained unscathed.
Here are my bugs/suggestions in rough order of importance. This one happened the first time I tried to build a mine. The mine appeared in the wrong location. It didn't disappear from the map when I tried to cancel it. Though it did disapear from the building queue. When I tried building it again it appeared over the cancelled one. Also, I was able to queue multiple mines on the same spot. The game crashed when the mines were completed. <img
