I'll get a new version of Office when they get rid of the ribbons.
I might at least consider it then, but I wouldn't bet on that happening. So I'll keep on using Office XP/2002 on Win7, which works just fine. Buying office once is plenty enough anyway--there hasn't exactly been any must-have progress in word processing and spreadsheet software in the past decade, after all.
As for the ribbons, I figure we just have to get use to it

We've shipped boxed preorders a day or two early in the past, but as international shipping can take a week or two we can't do release-day shipping on those. You will be able to download it, though.
It's probably for the best, as not having it now means everyone can test for memory leaks. You guys are probably more likely to be running 64bit windows than the average person so it'd make it a lot harder if nobody had to worry about the 2gb cap.
See the other thread you linked just above.
Roundup updated with this weekend's reports (in two parts).
Disable advanced lighting in the video options.
Horses were already in, you just can't use them yet.
This is a known bug; casualties to previously created group-units affect all of that group size (even ones not yet trained).
In the future, please report only one bug per thread. Multi-bug posts make it unnecessarily difficult to summarize and categorize reports for the devs to review.
Please be sure to properly categorize bug vs suggestion when posting (I've edited the title). If your comment starts with "I would like it to...", it's probably not a bug :)

Please post dxdiag files and other long text logs via dropbox or pastebin in the future. Posting them inline makes the reports harder to read.
Reloading or starting a second game in the same session is disabled for this build while the cleanup code is worked on.
A savegame would be helpful if it reproduces this issue.
Tech screen appeared.
The breakthrough screen (probably, if you had autoturn on) or the full research screen?
which, frankly, I have no idea what it's doing there. I don't want impulse reactor to run, ever, so what's this doing here in the first place?
Reactor is the dll which provides the overlay and other functions to the game. It is not the same thing as the Impulse DD client.

Do you have a saved game to reproduce this from?
How many opponents did you have set?
Estates/Mansions are a branch off the standard housing line (they cost much more to build but provide prestige in addition to population space).
Correct, the art doesn't need testing so a number of buildings won't have their final assets in the beta.
Can you still interact with everything, only the turn button is "stuck" in the disabled state?
Is there any other way to move in this game? Can't I click?
Yes, just select unit(s) and right click a destination.
