Congrats to the team! I hope this drags metacritic towards a well deserved score, better than what it is now.
I cast Fracture on a unit that had the special ability 'Defender' while the unit was defending. The spell is supposed to reduce defense by 25%. This reduction was calculated from the defending defense value and wasn't modified when the unit was not defending. Now the Sons of the Forge only have a defense 2, when they had a base defense of 10. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3kycslqhlcvj5ur/Fracture.png

I have to second this.
I'm a bit surprised by this sentiment. I'm finding quite the opposite unless I'm playing Magnar or Altar that have better growth due to slaves or higher prestige. In my current game I have 8 cities as Resoln. My prestige is around
If the poison was still on, you might have moved Donya away rather than attack. Nice story though, I'm glad the RNG hasn't beat me that bad yet :-)
Definite yes from here! Best TB strategy I've played in a very long time.
I liked Final Liberation, but the dynamic difficulty was a poor choice in my opinion. I had a lot of difficulty in the last mission since I had very good troops, so I disbanded some and the mission became a cakewalk.
Therefore, men and women are not equal, never were, and never will be. They are different, specialized. However, the national sport of Americans is hypocrisy. If there is a problem, let's behave like it does not exist. If we are sad, let's just smile all the time. There is of course a lot of racism, because racism is a natural notion, but people pretend it does not exist. The whole "gender equality" is
Defense doesn't affect how easily a unit is hit, it subtracts from the damage taken. Dodge is reduced from accuracy. Let's say the enemy has a group of archers with accuracy 80. If you are on horseback, they will each have an individual chance of 55% to hit. After that they get a damage number based on a roll of their attack. Then you roll for defense and deduct that. If total damage done is zero, as is probable in your case, you should see a 'Clink' displayed.</
Spells can be pretty powerful in the game, but you need to know how to use them. I suggest you play a bit more. For example, Cull the weak is a treasure. Dd you notice that the faction that has it can produce extremely cheap and maintenance free slaves? Plus the spell gives you 20 mana which you can use on flame dart, fireball or something else that does a ton of damage on higher levels. Think of the slaves as healing + mana potions with legs ;)
That sounds like an awesome idea! A city razed by monsters becomes a lair and the tile remains fertile. Me like.
Moving would make it harder to clear areas with several stacks. I don't know if that would be a change for better or worse. Current implementation has some serious problems occasionally. You can wipe out a powerful monster army and then an enemy gets the spoils since he moves before you get a chance to enter the lair.
Ah, thanks for the clarification abob. I was thinking of talents too!
-Deleted misleading answer- Heavenfall knew better :-)
Oh no. Up goes my dog-fever again. I wonder how old our youngest should be when we get a dog.. Entlebucher definitely seems like a viable choice.
I can also recommend the 64 bit Win 7. It's been the best Windows for me so far and I would recommend it above XP. I haven't tried Win 8 on a desktop computer or a laptop. I've read some reviews and they are rather discouraging, so I'm sticking with 7.
Happy odd vacation to you too! Silly foreigners.
I'm pretty sure borders = zone of control. And that area is a 5x5 grid centered on the outpost. In other words, two tiles in each direction (including diagonally) from the outpost. If you build the upgrade for increased outpost borders (called High tower I think?), then outpost borders extend three tiles in each direction. I don't know about stacking the effects or what happens if the supposed borders are overlapped by enemy borders.

This bug is still present in 1.02. It seems that if the AI sovereign is stacked with the pioneer creating the city, then the city has 30 initial population.
The Assassin's blade quest appears to be bugged at several points. I've gathered from other forum posts that the blade should be unequipped for the quest to work properly. Whenever you want to abandon the quest / not kill a man with doggies, you get a message saying the blade crumbles. If you have the blade equipped, it doesn't crumble. And in the end when you are in the "have the blade" part of the quest and return to initial location, the quest doesn't end if
I've been meaning to write my own "Love the game, thanks a bunch!" thread for a while now, but haven't quite found the time from playing. So I'll add my comments here. WoM for me was [e digicons] Great work Stardockians!
Your operating system determines if you are running 32 or 64 bits. You should be able to check from System Information. For example, in my System Information the System Type says x64-based PC, which means I'm running 64 bits.
Oookay, sorry for spamming. Just tried to play the game further and it appears the game hangs after I capture Deorcnysse. Can't move any of my units or end the turn. The influence border around D flickers on the screen. I'll start another game now.
