Things I've never seen the AI do: 1) Use commanders 2) Attack starbases 3) Destroy shipyards 4) Create more than one economic starbase for compound benefits These seem like routine and normal for a human player, but I've never seen the AI do any of them.

I think there is an unintended side effect of Station Garrison. This is repeated like Aid Research and Aid Economy if the last item in the queue. The side effect is that it will drain all your legions without knowing. I think the AI is getting hit by this because you will see some AI planets with huge legion sets on planet. Aid Research and Aid Economy are not so problematic as Garrison Legion because legions are consumable and scarce. If the AI gets hit by this then they may run out
Mine never do. What version do you have? I create some small hull support ships for specific weapons enhancement and they are always visually way out in front, but they never take damage.
1) Tool tip saying what the current rally point is (if any) for a shipyard. Maybe when you hover over the "Rally Point" button. 2) Show what citizen is in the citizen ships when hovered over.
I don't think the visuals mean anything. If you hover over the support ships it stills says "out of range" correct?
Is that mod on steam?
I agree it seems small and tiny assault ships should have more relevance late game. I think the jamming should decline more quickly and more steeply, though. Something like 60,40,5,0,0. Then I think you would have to run tests to see what the result would look like in battle scenarios. BTW - Where are the files that have these values are listed?
I was very confused by the military enhancements at first but I think the behavior is as follows: 1) All Starbase types can be upgraded for defense. They only use their weapons defensively and do not offensively attack an intruder. They can defend themselves with no orbiting fleet if attacked, and a fully upgraded starbase is pretty beefy. 1) Military Starbases can be also be used as force multipliers as mentioned. There are a whole host of different buffs for you and debuffs
I never understood the joy of exploits. If artificially making the game easier is "fun" then just use the console.
Change your strategy. The commanders can still used on other fleets. Win with a different strategy. Seems simple enough. Still seems like complaining about nothing. I'm glad they make the game harder.
Making it hard to do something is good for the game. The game should be harder, IMO. It's boring if you don't have to trade for resources and watch your money and how you spend it. That is the whole point of a strategy game.
Nothing is wasted. If you built the fleets right they will still be very powerful. You can also get mercs to buff the fleets. Seems like a silly reason to be upset.
