Min / Max in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

Hi. Seeing as I can't use show desktop with DX/IconX, I'm looking for some help / tutorial. I want to create a DX object that will minimize/maximize all windows (ie winkey+m). I've found a min/max object here on WC but can't make it so that it is only an image and not text. Any help or tutorial would be apreciated. Thanks in advance.

I mailed support about a year ago I think, and never got a satisfactory solution then either. Luckily I don't use DX any more because of this reason. I've started using OD+ because they finally got around to fixing the show desktop . Still there are better alternatives out there that cost nothing. I think he apreciates the the help, but I think he is narked at the fact he has to create it for himself, after all, DX3 has a user mode for those who don't want to have to create their own objects/scripts, and a developer for those that do. DX has been around a long time, and the show desktop button has been built into windows for a long time also, surley that's plenty of time to come up with a workable solution. As I have said

Have a look here [ Link ] Maybe a possible solution. It's a post I made on the subject, there has never been a satisfactory way to use showdesktop in Dx. Other Free desktop customisation software handles it no problem. Maybe try one of them.

Seems if I enable IconX, I can use the show desktop button, as long as the object is set to desktop level. But IconX isnt good when it comes to right click options, as with WinRAR and such. Sigh.

I have tried that before, but it doesn't always seem to minimize all the windows if I have a lot open. How does AveDesk get around the problem? Thanks a lot for your idea.

Hi. I have a problem that's been bugging me since the early days of DX. I use my show desktop button all the time, my problem is it minimizes DX too. I set my objects to desktop level, and still the same thing. AveDesk doesn't have this problem, though. Anyone any ideas how to fix it, other than a minimize windows DX object, which I have tried, but doesn't work 100% of the time. Thanks. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Yum

Can you assign hotkeys to certain objects, to make just one object appear, or is it for the whole shebang, making them all appear? Currently I'm using Avant browser which is using IE to render or whatever, I have 9 tabs open and using 20mb of mem, and 474 handles. Worth taking a look if you don't want to move away from IE to another browser. I Killed of one svchost that had about 30mb mem usage, (theme service disabled already) and my system is still running find and dandy.<br
