Frogboy has said the AI is strongest on medium map, scattered stars, abundant inhabitable, 5 AIs. That was for DL.

It's possible he may not have played GC for a while and doesn't remember exactly how everything looked before.
StarCraft has been patched 20 times. There are many games that have been patched more than GC2, and many, many more that needed to be but never were. I'm not exactly sure what ES is asking for, and I suspect he doesn't either. At first blush it seems he wants a sort of communism where everyone is brought down to the lowest common denominator to make everything "fair". Back in the old days before the internet I remember some game companies would mail out floppy disks with patch
The ship design interface was completely redesigned post-release, some pretty big changes have gone into those updates. Well, Brad just said it ain't gonna happen. I think people would be more supportive of holding off for more features if they knew what those feature were. People who want it NOW no matter what seem
There is nothing more Disappointing than a game that is rushed out the door and you find out they cut out features just to make a date on the calander. Exactly Most games released just before Chistmas suck.
Take as much time as you need. Maybe do a little public beta to appease those who want it NOW NOW NOW. I'll wait. As someone else pointed out, GC2 was released after Christmas and that hasn't hurt it's sales one bit.
Final-Recipient: RFC822; [email protected] This is why. They put the wrong address in Smart Exception. I noticed this myself several weeks ago and mentioned it on the forum. The correct address is gc2bugs@stardock. com . I wonder how many bug reports they've lost because of this.
I found a picture of an alien that should please Skyjack and the other dude:
I much prefer humanoid looking aliens. Most people do, which is why that's what you see in most sci-fi. You can't give recognizable (to us humans) facial expression to amorphous blobs. Also, without a humanoid face they could not communicate like humans do which could make dialogue problematic.
Along with more outrageous random events, there needs to be a everyone likes you less when you are in front. You could call it the USA syndrome or something. Sometimes called Tall Poppy Syndrome
I hate the Altarians because their song is the worst I've heard in over 13 years of PC gaming. Heh, I voted for the Torians for the same reason. Damn circus music....
a half-our audio And half-theirs?
SD slap in a hot key for "move all autopilot moves" while you are at it pretty please This is the one thing I really miss from GalCiv 1. It was the space bar in that game.
And maybe download SmartException too...
The AI won't attack because of your high diplo skill. This appears to have been put in after people who wanted to play as a peaceful civ complained that the game would not allow them to do so ("the AI always attacks me!!!"). The obvious downside to this is that it makes concentrating on diplo techs an easy win even on high difficulties.
i dont know if am going to waste my money on that i think i am waiting for suoreme commander to come out I'm going to waste my money on both.
Um, why are you going around bumping every thread you've ever started....
BoogieBac, you may want to check Smartexception. When I used it to catch some crashes a couple of weeks ago the address it told me to send the files to was [email protected] instead of .com.
It would be better, IMO. I've always wondered why they round everything down.
Keep in mind that this tactic was implemented after people complained on the forums that they wanted to play as a peacefull civ, but the game would not let them. Remember all the "why does the game force me to be a warmonger?" threads?
What would be a better system?
let's go through all possible cases : -the computer enter an alliance with you & elimanates all the others => you win a diplomatic victory -the computer enter an alliance without you & eliminates all the others (which means you at least) => you lose whether or not the computer entered an alliance is irrelevant to your lost status ....
+ The AI is now allowed to win via a technology victory. A warning dialog is brought up if the AI is going for that tech...similarly, the AI is now informed when a human player is going for a tech victory. Great change, but does this mean the AI can now also win a diplomatic victory, or are they still disallowed that?
Just a thought, in order to win an alliance victory, they have to build an alliance with you in it. Hence, you also win. Perhaps that would be the case if it worked, but if an AI civ is allied with every other civ in the game, the game does not end like it would if it was the player's civ.
No, they can't, nor can they win by alliance victory. In fact, AI civs are not really allowed to win the game at all. The best they can do is prevent the player civ from winning by taking all his planets.
