Aesthetically, I prefer non scaling, it looks, well, stupid. But I can see the value from a design perspective of scaling, as it would allow more information to be transmited to the players, if they can see in detail their units even while zoomed out. But as a player, I say information at a glance be damned!
Am I imagining that someone said something about dungeon maps? Because I was thinking back on the dev diary that was talking about creating an old Ultima graphiced mod (free game?), and there was mention about how someone will likely make one that is based on MoM. Now a totally remade MoM would be awesome, but with Myrror, it would sort of lame (interdimentional highways are awesome.)
