since most countries are so advanced that people can play on line...and they do ...a lot... now take my country, for instance, at this transpher rate on the dial-up i wouldn't be able to play tetris on line...so no multiplayer is not such a big deal...

yes, and since in the firs months you actually BUY ships and stuff, I usually set the military slider to zero...this seems a good ideea on AI's normal and sub normal...however, I dunnot know what would be the impact on nor building any attack vessels early, on higher AI's haven't tried yet...for me, a normal AI and two sub-normals are some scary sht !

I dunno, but those sneaky bastards are a LOT more evil than the Dregins...only that they don't show it...and that's even more scary. At least with the dregin I know where i'm standing. Waddever I do , they want to eat my skin...as for the altarians...you may never know...one moment they're selling you movies, the next moment, you're admiring blue dreadnaughts ripping your empire to tiny ribbons...

So I was allied with these guys...I tweaked the AI so no one was all evil, only all good to neutral, and I was hoping for a high competitive game on research, trade social, etc...and less bone cracking, face bursting warfare....so after a few moths the blue bastards like my way of life and we get allied. And all the hell breaks loose. First they declare war on a small race I was in good terms with...no problem, i say...small race, let's get'em and let's be over with. But noooooo....a co

It is kinda scary...it happened to me too...well, something like this, anyway... I was allied with altarians and while I was their buddy they allways complained and begged me for help...whining bastards...So I started to wander : the dregins are at beginner level and doing better than the altarians at normal level ?...well, anyway, the blue-bastards were as puny as one ma get...until something fishy happened and they declared war on me...the next month they had tons'o dreads and ran

Well, I was trying like hell to please them...I was choosing all the good options, I was trading with them extensively, I provided assistence for them when the asked, etc... but the thing that pissed me most, was the fact that they seemed a lot weeker than me for 98% of the game and after we took out the badguys, BOOM ! suddenly they have swarms of rangers and dreads all over the place ! Wich was even more upsetting since I took from the bad guys 8 systems and they took only a small pathetic

well, I planed the game like this : -me good guy, altarians as allies. (altarians as normal AI) -yor and dregin badguys, first thing to do is KILLKILLKILL.(dregin sub-normal and yor as beginners) -the bigheaded green guys hanging around as neutral and I was thinking about getting a alliance with them to win or another thing except kill'em. (to idiot level so they don't bother me too much or attack me and spoil my good intentions) And I did the stupidest mistake of trading ev

wow...I'm impressed...incredible dificulty...last time I played I got gutted by 3 Idiot and 1 Beginner AIs... And I had the impression that I got smashed BECOUSE I was trading tech for money....so I'm kinda confused...you say that you need to squeeze every coin by selling tech ?...that seemed a huge mistake in my game...

*looking around, paranoid* exactly about WHAT "movies I like so much" are the Altarians talking about ? LOL that was a fun line...I just imagine myself smuggling important, priceless technology and trading it for some datacubes with Altarian movies....hehe...

yeah, I would like to know that too...after a few hours of playing at 1200xsumpthin' my ancient display smells like flamin' rubber and starts smokin'...but at 800x600 is juuuust fine....so...is there a way to keep the game at 800x6oo ?

I know where my fault is...being used with party RP games I tend to care for each and every individual...In strategy games I guess you just can't go crying your eyes out every time you lose a scout...so I try to put my ships is sure-to-win situations only, thus I play too slow and waaaaay too defensive....but, as I said, this game is too good to ignore...

I just want to conquer 99% of the map and then just hang around for a few thousands of years, building a ridiculous number of spacestations, trading with allies, etc...before killing the last enemy in an attempt wich would look like smashing a tiny bug with a 55 tons steam-roller since the "continue game after winning" isn't available LOL
