Is Yor evil by default? For some reason I though Yor was aligned as good by default (in the same way drengins are evil) Their background music indicate they are supposed to be good, I think.

Yes, This has happenede to me too. Both the Arceans and the Torians provided me with some corvettes to figh tthe drengins and immediately afterwards the torians and the arcenas relationship toward me dropped.
If there is a yellow star, is there not always at least 1 planet of class 15 or better?
Is this problem true with other imporvements as well or only those affecting starships?
dear konfuzed667 (and maybe some others as well), Excuse me for my rudeness but I cannot help but wonder about people who fill all possible forums with opinnions like "this is a opinnion-based issue". This is NOT an opinnion-based issue. The fact for sure is that the battlehammer IS overpowered compared to the battlecruisers and that's just as simple as that. I will argue about this no more since there is nothing in this statement that leaves room for arguing - n
Phaedyme, I understand your concern. I would hate it if the constructors and freighters would be stuck troughout the game with a 1 movement/turn. That would be afwul. One possibility would be to give theese ships +1 initial speed. (ships supposed to be much quicker like corvettes and starfighters should have sigcifically higer starting speed so that a % bonus would reallt affect them. Also, this speedbonus could be say +25% instead of just +10% (heck, then even
Star pilot, Carefully read trough what I wrote in the first place. I NEWER tried to say defensive ships should not be allowed to be used for defensive purposes, I only said theese ships should solely be defensive ships, not extreamly cheap offensive ships. The speed atribute SHOULD most defineatly be a % instead of a certin moves/turn for all ships, simply because it unbalances things too much as I tried to explain in the first post in this chain, and not just a litt
Estyles, I like your proposed solution. I hope stardock will hear us. thongor, As I see it now, the BIG funkiller here is the gravity accelerator tradegood, that gives too much advantage to supposed-to-be, slow ships.
Actually I think battleaxes and battlehammers are (at least supposed) to be kind of defenders (since they are not allowed go out attacking outside a limited range) but for some strange, strange reason they have been given unbalanceinly high attack values also.
I have noticed that the battlehammer and the Frigate has about the same attack/defense ratio while battlehammer is considerabely cheaper to construct, has several times more hitpoints and requires considerably less upkeep cost. I understand battlehammers are primarily designed for a defensive role, hence they are a bit slower, but as long as they move reasonably quickly and always far enough to be able to attack enemy planets and sectors (witchalready relatively early in the ga
Ok, so what you are stating is that it increases attack/defense and NOT hitpoints.
I have often built fleets for the purpose of beeing able to guard my defensively weak ships with those with a good defense. Then my fleet of 3 corvettes + 1 battleaxe is attacked by a battlecruiser and for some strange reason my corvettes are selected to defend and of course I lose them one by one. If the battleaxe would had defended the fleet, I would not had lost any ship. My questions are 1) Is this a feature that always the ship with weakest defense is f
I have the same problem. The shipyard does not do a thing. (expect requiring upkeep cost)
I have noted that the drengins are always the first one to discover trade and diplomacy. Always. I wonder why that warfare race always wan't diplomacy and Trade so early on
Someone claimed the A.I is traiding early on and thus having alot of techonologies. The problem is that I can almost always see A.I has NOT developed diplomatic translators so cannot communicate, even less trade, and no player (human or A.I) should in any case not be able to develop diplomatic translators during the first few months. So A.I either has theese techologies as free gifts, of then they somehow cheat. But NOT trade!
There are so MANY things in this game you should not do because they would be unfair to exploit ;)
Personally I have newer seen the A.I colonize a planet lower than class 15. This seems to be an absolute rule the A.I is following - NEWER colonize planets below class 15, ever! Unfortunately this seems to mean that there are always 1 or 2 A.I players that, starting in poor locations, eg. on the edge of the map who simple just CANNOT expand unless they colonize that class 14 planet first in order to reach that cluster of stars. And IMHO class 14 is really not that bad. Still
Frogboy, I think the reason this severe bug has not been considered important by 99% of customer is simply because they have not been AWARE of it. There once was a diplomacy problem with Civilization 3 - witch emerged months after the game had been launched. After beeing discovered, it suddenly got HUGE attention since it spoiled the game for those aware of it. Of course the programmers at firaxis promised to fix it right away. Therefore I cannot but w
This is sad! :sniff!:
Dearmad, Then I can only hope that Frogboy or someone has noticed the problem and is working on it since this is a MAJOR spoiler. Not just a little bug.
Sysi, I have also not downloaded them for the same reason. Beeing available as-is and not as official updates tend to indicate that they may be untested and unbalanced things.
Divide, I too think that kind of an event ruins the game. Say some 20 battlecruisers instead would have been more acceptable but over 80 early on...it practically ends the game right there!
Deremad, I have noted that during early-mid game, Drengins usually have a great military tech lead but for some reason during very early game, I always end up buying Trade and Diplomacy from them ;)
Not only are "intelligent" A.I to slow to react to abusive "war declaration trades" - they are accepting "war declaration trades" they newer should in the first place. In my current game there is three superpowers (me, drengins and The Torians) in the game with the others beeing less than minor nuisances. Drengins was at war with everyone except the Torians while the Torians was at war with only a minor race. Dengins was to strong for my army so desperate, I tried to convince
Just got a "random event" - it boosted my influence I think. Too bad that won't stop the Drengins from "liking my skin" and their transporters from invading me in a few turns :sniff!:
