Dont blame the system if you cant keep yourself from doing things you dont like. This is like saying Remove the Save game function because people dont like reloading when something bad happens.
Forcing the player to invent their own rules to make the game actually fun and not a pushover isn't an example of good game design. If they implemented a golden ticket into the game that randomly appeared on the map that al

This post reflects my experience as well. It would be really wonderful if a solution to the city spam issue could be devised since it seems like every single 4X game suffers from it and it just isn't fun. I suppose some people might enjoy the challenge of being able to manage all those cities and keep track of everything, but I'd much rather try and maintain some personality in the game by putting the player into a situation where they're only going to be able to hold on to a few

I agree something needs to be done. I'm often finding myself with much more mana than I can use and it's trivial to just zip around using Cloud Walk to not only avoid dangerous enemies but also defend multiple locations with a single army. I like your gate idea. If you actually had to travel to a specific point and could only come out at another specific point that might be a nice compromise.

So I'm basically one-shotting entire armies with this spell. I only have a single Death Shard, but when it lands (after only 1 turn) it's doing 50-60+ damage to each unit, killing almost every humanoid I'm up against, every time. I'm able to go around with my sovereign and only a couple other units and take out much larger armies using pretty much just this.

Interesting and powerful spells is definitely something FE needs. I hope it lives up to the original promise of world-changing mega spells that will allow you to feel truly powerful, and in a way that is different to your opponents. Different schools of magic should have drastically different spells which, depending on the other choices made by your enemies will either be a nuisance to them or a complete disaster. And I want to feel the fear of going up against a channeler who specializes in

I wouldn't be surprised if FE eventually receives MP support in a patch if the game proves to be a success. Brad says it would be non-trivial to add, but not impossible. He's also said many times that Elemental is the game Stardock would be focusing on for years to come so if it is received well why not make the effort for MP?

I think WoM is the only game I ever pre-ordered. Gaining access to the alpha/beta was the primary motivator, but still. I hope you guys have finally cracked it and made the game the way it was intended to be.
The game definitely doesn't play like WOM (for better or worse). For one thing, the world is your enemy too. That's the first opponent you deal with. There are few wandering monsters but lots of strongholds of various nasties who will reach out when necessary.
Oh yeah. A harsh world you must struggle against in addition to the other channelers. That's the ticket. I hope it's b
