I didn't see my pet peeve on the list, so I hope it's OK if I mention it here. Is there a keyboard way to select a city if a city is not currently selected? As far as I can tell, there isn't; I wish the "select next city" button would select a city if I currently have, say, a unit or enemy selected. (I think we can select a unit from the keyboard, even if one isn't already selected, but I haven't played in a couple days and can't remember for sure.) Also, the next-ci

On number 7, the game centers over the city that's upgrading, so if you look to the bottom of the screen, you can see what the city produces -- gildar, tech, arcane, etc. I find this is enough info to help me decide on a specialty. Granted, it's not as clear as it could be, but it's OK.

I'm also really enjoying it. I'm not having any crashes or performance trouble, and the gameplay is addictive. :) Glad to hear I'm not alone.

1.05 has made great strides on keyboard shortcuts. The numpad key now works pretty well for unit movement, and TAB works well for selecting and then cycling through units. Unless I'm mistaken, though, selecting and cycling through cities is somewhat more difficult. Shift-C will select a city, but only if one is idle; otherwise I can't find a way to select a city with the keyboard if a unit or other non-city object is already selected. Likewise, PgUp/PgDown do cycle thr

My starting colony is hemmed in by a rival city and water. I don't have the Navies tech yet, and there's only one square of water separating me from freedom. I tried the "raise land" spell on it, and indeed it turned from water to land -- and even spawned a quest location on it. But I can't move onto it. Maybe I'm not supposed to be able to create "land bridges." Does anyone know?

Glad to see some love for keyboard shortcuts, for those of us whose RSI limits mousing. I'm hoping the numpad keys will finally let us move units in all 8 directions. So has there been any increase in the cost of Pioneers or new cities? In beta, new cities used to cost more than they do now, which made it more interesting to decide whether you should spring for a new city.

Some sort of added cost does seem appropriate. I don't know if it should be gildar only, or materials, or some combination. Or maybe Pioneers should get progressively more costly.

Agree with OP. I am so much in the habit of using ESC to close windows that I inadvertently bring up the main menu every five minutes in Elemental. I wouldn't mind if ESC brought up the main menu once all other windows are closed, but first I'd have ESC close one currently-open open window. I also want working keyboard shortcuts for movement, but that's another issue. :)

I can't bet Blink to work at all. I get the red or green cursor, but then nothing happens when I click.

Caravans work nicely. I especially like how they form roads. But they die fast, because there doesn't seem to be a way to assign an escort to the caravan once it's automatically doing trade runs. One can of course micromanage this by moving a combat unit in tandem with the auto-moving caravan, but that would be tedious. Could we get the ability to add escorts to caravan trade routes? I suppose one downside of this would be that the AI might not be as good as as

Concur with the OP. In fact, I may have caused a crash by trying to close a popup window with the "return" key. But yes, ESC makes the most sense. I'd also like many more keyboard shortcuts in general, especially numpad for movement. My wrist hurts after playing Elemental for an hour.

I have a few thoughts of my own, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to make my own thread, or where. I see only stickied dev posts when I browse the forums. Anyway, my list of things: 1. Is there a keyboard way to move? The four arrow keys don't cut it, as there are six directions, aren't there? Numpad keyboard would be ideal, but it doesn't do anything. I find moving my sovereign downright tedious. 2. Does city layout matter now? I thi

I'm happy about most of the changes, but I hope the changes to city-building result in more decisions, not fewer. I want lots of interesting decisions and tradeoffs! Decisions can take lots of forms: which building to build, which resource to exploit, how many cities to establish, whether to specialize, whether to favor a particular type of industry, and "zoning" -- where to place particular tiles. I especially hope the location of city tiles is important in the nex

Unless I'm missing something, currently we can't use the NUMPAD keys to move. The arrow keys on my keyboard work, but not the NUMPAD. The arrow keys are OK, but on a square grid, units can move in 8 possible directions, not just 4, so the arrows are incomplete. Could we have the NUMPAD implemented as well? Perhaps it is and I'm missing something?

I like city-building, but I hope the devs can add more decisions to it. As I mentioned in your other thread, I'd like to see "zoning" -- that is, I'd like to see the location of buildings matter. As is, you can place most things pretty much anywhere. In addition, I'd like a clearer sense that there are tradeoffs. Maybe there are already, but they're not clear to me. E.g., by building an archery thingie, I forego the opportunity to build something else, o

I agree on most counts, with some qualifications. I've played only one game so far, and in this game I'm not really hemmed in -- I can wander about. I just can't find anyone to play with -- after hundreds of turns, I still haven't seen an enemy AI. Just roaming, tough level-1 mobs. I've managed to fight and defeat just one so far, plus the wolf quest. Consequently, I haven't leveled up at all! On city-blobs: I mostly agree with you. I saw a screens

The quest "Strange Noises" has a minor typo in the dialog box that asks whether you wish to accept the quest. It says "Dosen't sound important" rather than "Doesn't...".
