What is curious to me is that they obviously went to a lot of trouble to take out this system, including developing new skill trees, changing graphics, and re-balancing numerous items and weapons. I just don't understand, with the other issues in the game currently, why this was focused on. I'd be curious to hear from Derek about what internally caused this need, because it sure didn't seem to come from the forums.

Did I miss the part where people were clamoring for changes to this system?
Well, I never see them, regardless of type or level. I'm thinking its a setting, but it may be a graphical bug. I don't have any other graphical issues, so I'm kind of at a loss. I know it's not a huge deal but I do think they look cool, and they are easy to spot.

I see the effect on Das123's videos, so it seems the effect is still there, I just can not see it! Thanks in advance...
I have read a lot of bellyaching about how the changes to the XP system have made it harder to level up heroes, make it less transparent, and generally made the game less fun. People are certainly entitled to their opinion, but as a veteran of strategy games since literally Universe , over the last 2 days I have had probably the most fun I've ever had with any strategy game in the last 15 years - not since Alpha Centauri . And this was with a losing game! There are
While we all debate the last few tweaks, like how long bears should stand, which fonts go where, and what it costs to create a mountain (though I have to go with the majority on this one...) "What can your 5 mana do for you, Stephan?" "I can raise a mountain from the earth, or create a land bridge to a distant island, or reshape entire continents!!" "And you, Kathyrn?"
