Stardock sent me that procedure, which worked well for me ; I did not have to do the last step, when everything fails: Remove it completely using our LH removal tool: http://sd.stardock.com/Rosco/apps/LH_Cleaner.exe Check the box for Clear Entire Game: <a href="http://screencast.com/t/Qjern

failed. I think I'll lose interest in the game. No way to play it now, and already lost too much time.

Unsure that this is the problem, but steam consistently tells me that one file is not good when I check the game integrity. After it updates, the game is OK (consistent.) When I lauch the game, it first sync with the steam. Then it fails. If I go check again: the game is again unconsistent, with one file not good. So, what's this problem, and how to I solve it ? Looks like a steam problem there... Thanks

Thanks! I'll do it after reinstalling the game if it still fails. One never knows.

no. Standard DLC only. My window installation did not update during the day. The game did not seem to update either... I just fail to understand: to my knowledge, nothing changed on my computer, it worked this morning, it doesn't work this evening... Yves

This morning I play LH, no problems. I come back this evening: no save will load, and I cannot even start a new game. I have checked the installation in steam, and steam found one wrong file that it reloaded. Still, nothing works. In all cases I get a simple popup saying: Elemental: legendary heroes ceased to work etc... What's up ? How do I get to play now ? Yves
of course i tried that. i'm not saying it doesn't work. it's just worse. i'm not going to tell you how to play your game. if you enjoy it the way you play - fine. it's been a long time since i last played the game on default settings. i don't enjoy it that way. i play on dense monsters, expert difficulty, with lots of quests and wildlands. sometimes even at epic tech pace. in other words, i play it with a f
i disagree that there is no incentive to use heroes together. in my experience, it's a lot easier to clear all those early game lairs that block expansion when you use all your heroes together. also, you can't really afford several armies early on, so it's the smart thing to do. it takes a lot of tech before trained units outpace even a low level champion. if you don't use all of your heroes in the early game, you're wast
The problem we have early on was that people would just run one stack of doom with only heroes in it. There was no point to have troops. Now, troops are fine, but heroes became not so useful anymore. I think bigger problem is that most of the wars you fight and win with one stack anyway. Either you have a stack that can beat anything AI throws at you, or you loose. Thus, heroes are not that much needed anymore anyway.
I disagree. Play any real tactical game with figurines (which are rather accurate representations of battles at the tactical level), and you'll learn that: - flank attacks give huge bonuses - rear attacks mostly mean your unit is dead - overlapping units (your case) gives a serious bonus to the attacker You should be happy that the game stops there in the bonus it gives for having more numerous units than the enemy lined up against yours! Even a knig

Always.
Well if you bump the diff higher am pretty sure there is no way you can kill an AI by turn 30 (unless there are some nasty wandering mobs who kill his units or attack his city). And yes ; specific sliders, both for global XP earned (this is a figure you can find in the data files), and how the XP is split between heroes would close the discussion. I thought about it long ago. Not sure I suggested it, but it seems so obvious that the developpers have certainly thought about it (especially with all the discussions about XP that have been raging for a long time), and probably decided not to implement it. I wonder why. Yves
Heck all my games (where I disable all VC except conquest for obvious reasons, since they are more easily to achieve and earlier in game than Conquest) are just warming up around turn 300-400 (this is with normal speed for techs / production etc).
Well ; we have major difference in play style, which may lead to extreme differences for the gaming experience.
that's easy. there are no armies of doom until the point where the game is pretty much over, so i don't care about high tier units outperforming heroes or whatever. the interesting part of the game is the early/mid game.
But that's ludicrous! There is no stack of doom at that time either! You have at most three heroes, and not level 15 or whatever you may think! Otherwise, I you must admit tha
you're wrong. XP split was introduced in the beta of FE. the release version already had that mechanic.
There may have been such a mecanism in pre patch 1.3. At this time it was OK and heroes would get enough XP to get to level 20. You did not divide the XP between all heroes in the same way as of now. Patch 1.3 did change the formula and things went to hell. This is
the point is - 3 level 10 heroes are on par with one level 16 hero (sometimes better, sometimes worse). with the split - it's a choice. without it, there's no choice at all. you'd be dumb to not put them all in one freaking overpowered stack. sounds like a lot of fun rampaging the countryside with an army of gods.
