Agree with OP.

Plus I think we should be able to bitch to the AI for its ships to leave OUR territory! One of the few things that bug me is that the AI has some diplomatic options that the player does not have.
It would also be great for new players to indicate what different levels of ai get by hovering the mouse over them or something since I doubt most player will bother to read the xml files to learn about that.
Absolutely agreed. It would also be useful to get tooltips for some Options Menu items such as lean maps, Gel UI, Camera snapback, Enable edge scroll, Clip cursor, Quick move, and so on. I would like to know what all these opti
Not going to lie, I want to b**ch slap the AI when they drop a star base next to my planet and then gets on my case for being in "their" territory. All I think is , "really? Freaking really?" Why can't I make threats? lol
This.
Or go steam Library > GalCiv3 > Properties > Local Files tab > Browse Local Files > then on GalCiv3.exe. go > Properties > Details, and it tells you the product/file version :)
Bumping this as it's a good question - hoping someone has a good response :)
You, Froggie, are the awesome one - the guy with the grand vision and the gifts which go into making this great game. Please don't ever stop :)
Come on devs, I've been bitching about this issue since 5.3 :) Please see the screenie below:
0.97.5.0 is now out...(just updated on Steam)
Thought I would report this minor issue. The icon over the planet on the planet list is yellow, when it should be green.
rediculous > r i diculous
I've been reporting this since 5.3.... :(
I've never managed to get into Civ5 - find it too complex and the UI non-intuitive and rather ugly. GalCiv3, on the other hand, is pretty easy to pick up (but hard to master)
How do you encourage an AI civ to go to war with another? I've tried bribing them but it seldom works.
I tried multiplayer last night. CTD on turn 2. Retried. Saved game wouldn't even load and game hung. Tried twice, then gave up.
No. I haven't experienced such problems yet (i7, 16GB RAM, 770GTX). I've played games fluidly well into 300+ turns on Gigantic. However, I never use the battle viewer... Btw, there are only 8 majors if I recall correctly?
It is very annoying that the A.I has political options the player does not have.
Agreed.
Tried multiplayer for the first time time last night. It's broke. But single player is shaping up fine. Just get the AI to actually build up colonies and put sensible things in them, and all will be well :)
Another good explanation, thank you.
Aha! Thanks. Still doesn't explain the constructor labelled as a gunboat though... And shouldn't they turn white to be in line with the rest of the pirates? That would simplify matters.
Playing against all 7 majors. Terran Alliance is - as you can see from the screenie - *way* stronger than all other AIs. Yet all AIs are on "normal" strength. What then is making the Terrans so much better than the others? Why does one AI civ come out way on top when all are based on the same number-crunching?
Thought I would report these issues... This is not a gunboat, and it is the wrong colour for a pirate: Also the wrong colour for pirates: The Exis have been destroyed, ye
I've seen this too. You can get them back if you click on the asteroids in question.
1) The way buildings are right now, its almost always better to build rather than wait.
This.
2) To the question of "soften" vs "kill", again its almost always better to kill than soften in the game right now.
This.
For me, the greatest single "issue" that this game has is the AI colony management. On every planet I culture-flip from the AI, it has built absolutely nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. I assume, apart from its insane military spending, this is the reason the AI is ususally constantly broke. Get this issue resolved and the game will be truly great. Even now, this is already a bloody fine game, despite some other kinks.
