Or go into your prefs.ini file and change the 'unlockables' from 0 to 1. ;)
They increase your charisma by ten points....
Always? It would be cool to have an option to not know what effect they have until after you hire them. Maybe a random value (-10 to +10). Then you could hire and fire your staff. Even that (hiring/firing) could have an effect on your campaign!
So if I don't save and just click Done then Ready I should be able to access my candidate in the normal screen? Even after I restart the game?
I've finally decided to try a custom candidate. I have created one and saved it, but when I start a game the candidate is not listed. When I click the 'Custom' tab the only option I have is to create a new one. If I try to save another new one I can see the first file I created and saved. Am I missing something??
I can't speak for everyone here but I was drinking Diet Coke. It has the kind of ingredients my body needs to one day be the host for some kind of malicious cancer.
 Considering how short the time was between this game being announced and being released, I'm very happy to find this is a solid release. Sure there may still be a small bug or two (I haven't found any yet!) but what can you expect when the people who worked on it had to drink Diet Coke and Mou
Will there be a place here where we can upload/share mods?
Playing as Lord Kona in the 1860 scenario I noticed something was wrong. I checked the GalCiv wiki and noticed that the Drengin have the following traits: * Weapons: +20 * Morale: +25 (inherent bonus) * Military production: +20 * Research: +10 * Hitpoints: +10 * Soldiering: +20 * Logistics: +7 (inherent bonus, not removable) Immediatl
Just got an email with my serial number that says I can download it now! :) Too bad I'm still at work. X-(
Lord Kona, Republican. That reminds me of the Kang/Kodos Simpson Treehouse of Horror episode where the aliens run for president of the US!
Tonight (4:28am so technically this morning) I'm hanging out on the GalCiv II forums between compiles.
Congrats on the release! I've downloaded Twilight but haven't really played my first game yet. As a GalCiv2 fan I'm looking forward to it. Also looking forward to this one coming out!!
Probably not until Brad finishes the latest GalCiv2 expansion pack later this week. :D But hey, I'm all for hoping!!!
Looks great! But I have to ask the question. Can you edit the graphics to make non-bobblehead characters?
Strictly off the record, I'm very happy to hear that. :HOT:
The Iowa Caucus is today and no word on Political Machine 2. Is it dead or is Brad just waiting until the latest GalCiv2 expansion is complete?
And was there one for username = bbmike??
So, where are all the custom ships that people are building that I can download? In particular, the classic Enterprise. No bloody A, B, C, or D! I checked in the Metaverse library but all I found in there were my echoing footsteps…
Actually, after installing 1.0D1.007 Stardock installed 1.0D1.008. It was a very small update and it looked like it only updated one XML file.
Yeah, and you can also rename their planets as well. Is that a bug too??
I also have a Logitech mouse and had the same problem. You have to go into the Logitech mouse control panel and change the wheel button. To do this I had to select the wheel button, then select 'other' as the task, then select 'middle button' in the select function area. Works great now!
I was watching the tutorials movies (great tutorials by the way!) and I noticed that you could not only drag the map with the left mouse button, but it looked like you could rotate the map just as easily. How do you do that?? I know there are the 1-4 view buttons but that didn't seem to let me rotate the map.
Sadly, I didn't really notice this and sent my flagship proudly off to help fight the war... Captain: Lock on target and fire! Helm: Um, sir, we don't really have any weapons. Captain: Doh!
Same thing happening to me. I hope this gets fixed fast as this is (will be?) one of the best parts of the game.
