That's probably it, although I hate to use Auto Resolve when I'm at a strength disadvantage- part of the challenge is to see how you can do when the odds are against you. An unfortunate quirk of the game. Does the game generate a crash log? I've had the occasional crash on the main map.
Playtesting now, still having problems with the Savant skill not reducing tactical spells by one turn. Another issue seems to be when combat ends before a multi-turn spell/crossbow attack resolves- the game just sort of 'hangs' at that point.
Didn't see it on the compatibility list, but how does the Tile Mod play with Xtra?
I am having the same problem with the Equipment screen. I have tried all three of the X D_UnitDetailsWnd files, but there is always a little overlap. Of course, I am playing on a laptop, so my resolution of 1366x768 is a pain...
Awesome, should be good. Quick question- do Paladin Champions show up in game, or do I have to assign my sovereign or a first level hero the Paladin class? First time playing, just wondering...
Is this mod compatible with XtraDeconstruct? I know there was some issue with the Level 6 and 7 cities mod not working properly with Xtra, wasn't sure if the Republic mod had the same problems.

Yeah, they are in the \Mods\XtraDeconstruct\ folder. The only file in the \Data folder is elemental.str The \Data folder in the zip file is set to hidden and read only though. Thought that was weird. Test 1- Moving X D_UnitGroupingTypes and XC_NameGenerator to English folder. Names appear in the Create Custom screen, although both male and female names show up for name generation.&n
Decided to do the scorched earth approach- deleted LH completely, reinstalled from Steam, ran it once with no mods, installed X D, ran it again..... same problem. This time, in addition to hanging up at the map screen, the character portrait and unit figures no longer show up. Moving XC_NameGenerator.xml and X D_UnitGroupingTypes to the English folder solved the problem. I'll keep playing with the other options, but I'm at a l

Thanks for the fast reponse. Still not working though. It hangs up right after I hit 'next' on the map selection screen. Changing it back to WorldNameRuleset.xml fixes it, no hang up. There wouldn't be another file that affects it, would it? I'm using all the X D- DLC packs too.
