I commend Frogboy and his staff for having the chutzpah to take the kick to the nuts that was WOM and come back swinging with FE. I have deep respect for all 5? surviving major publishers that still produce meaningful strategy games specifically designed for the PC. They all tend to excel at certain aspects while remaining competant with others. All of the major publishers have had their failures..Empire: Total War, Hearts of Iron II, SOTS 2, etc. But, in those cases with Stardoc

I must say, even though I have always been a huge fan of SD's post-release product support, even I am amazed. The tenacity and work ethic shown in the last few weeks, aggressively attacking and fixing bugs as they rear their ugly heads, is a thing of beauty to behold. Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded now, with regard to Elemental, and for every future product you develop for our enjoyment.

Yup, I just got one too, no changelog or history for it, but it was 6.xx Megs for me. 1.09r isn't released yet, so I am assuming it's some sort of hotfix for 1.09q

I am hoping this is released soon as I really can't even really help beta-test at this point. The game siezes up after ~30 turns when I try to do almost anything it seems. I had the day off today so tried to play all morning, but spent more time re-loading and re-booting the game than actually playing it.

SD has been very upfront with apologies about the fact that we are really paying beta testers for Elemental. If you have a problem with that, ask for a refund. You are going to be indirectly compensated for being a paying beta tester with 2 free expansions which would normally cost you a minimum of ~$20-30US each. So, in effect, assuming down the road Elemental is a playable product, you'll have basically gotten the original for free. Any established customer knows SD's track record of indust

I had three companies on my, "Pre-order buy automatically list". Paradox Interactive, Stardock and Creative Assemblies (TW games). The reason they were on that list is releasing solid products based upon strong pre-release testing and even stronger follow-up support. PI got bumped off that list with Hearts of Iron III, CA lost their seat with Empire and now Stardock fell off the wagon with Elemental. They all released those products in equally bad states of un-playability. PI and CA neve

Very Classy post. There's only two developers I trust implicently when it comes to long-term product Support...Stardock and Paradox Interactive. I've been a gamer since computer games were invented, the complexity has increased almost in direct proportion to computer power. I pay to be entertained. Some games can only entertain me for a few hours or days, for example shooters or limited scope adventure games, so I expect a very polished released product. Then there's games that
