top 10 favourite games.. its a tough choice. In no particular order, but these would all have to feature somewhere. 1 - UFO: Enemy Unknown 2 - Deus Ex 3 - Master of Orion 2 4 - Star Trek Birth of the Federation (multiplayer with a friend was great) 5 - Galactic Civilisations 2 6 - Medieval: Total War 1 7 - System Shock 2 8 - Syndicate 9 - Europa Universalis 3 : In Nomine 10 - Hearts of Iron 2 : Doomsday

So Jinksy has got it but nobody else has, that seems quite odd.
I preordered late last night and there's nothing relating to Political Machine 2008 appearing on Impulse yet. I'm guessing I have to register it by putting in the serial code in "My registrations". I dont have this code yet, only an order number. Hoping to receive a serial number via email today, but if not then perhaps I've missed the chance for beta access.
@smeginthepants That earth image looks remarkably like the geoscape in XCOM, where did you get it? Looks great.
Are there any gameplay examples for sins? They convinced me to buy GCII...
I second this, are there are beta / developer AARs around for Sins?
Thankyou for all the work you put in to providing free updates. GC2 has the best support I have ever encountered in about 15 years of gaming.
Is this solely happening with beta 4 or did it also appear in previous ones?
Greetings, after reading some of the religion related threads on this board I am starting to wonder why religion always provokes such heated debate? Without going into the philosophical arguments as to whether god exists / does not exist I just find it interesting that humans apparently have the need to defend their religious view (which presumably in most cases comes from their parental upbringing), in the face of many other contradictory ones. Then again, I suppose people
Hello all, has anyone played the SOTS expansion and if so is it any good in your opinion? I enjoyed the original game for a short period and am wondering whether this expansion significantly improves it.
the thought of sharing these bonus with alies isn't such a bad idea. When ever i ally with someone, i ALWAYS give them my trade goods (not all of them mind you). I mean, Helping them helps you in the end. So if you offer trade goods in diplomacy, do you still get the benefit of its effects or are you actually giving away these bonuses?<
I think what Quitch is saying is that you can get the benefits of being good simply by choosing your alignment as good when you research xeno ethics. After this, whats stopping you from picking all the evil choices and reaping the benefits of them? I assume your alignment will stay good even if you pick the evil choices (after having researched xeno ethics) Or do you no longer get these moral choices after its been researched?</f
The problem is that the invasion tactic the AI uses doesn't show up on the invasion screen. Hmm.. wonder why that is? It would be good to know what the AI is using against you. When their advantage factor is much better than yours, it would be reassuring to know that its simply because theyve
Thanks for the link, much appreciated
Sorry, I know I've seen a thread on this before but I can't find it now. What are the necessary video settings to see lights come on the planet surface at night? I've got the default video settings (which I think are maxed out), and am using an ATI radeon mobility card with 256Mb RAM Any idea how to see the pretty lights?
Does the AI use different tactics when invading? I've yet to see it use things like mass drivers or gas warfare, but then I haven't been invaded that many times..(clearly have the difficulty set too low) Also I read in a patch changelog about a change in planet texture to represent damage by mass drivers, but I can't seem to spot it, is it in the game?
I created a custom portrait for a race I wanted to create and started a game as them and it suddenly hit me. Do you ever actually see your own portrait during a game? I cant recall ever seeing it. So is there any real point to making a custom portrait, other than changing the ones of the default races to ones that you prefer. Or is it just to make you feel better that your portrait matches your race (even though you dont see it) </

Is there a feature ingame to compare your ship designs to other civs? Screenshot section shows this I've tried posting this topic twice now and it didnt appear on the board for some reason.
I tried posting this yesterday but it didnt appear on the topic list for some reason. Anyway, is there a feature ingame to compare your ship designs to other civs? Screenshot section shows this http://images.stardock.com/ss/shotstore/19/The%20Universe/shipstrategies.jpg
While browsing through the screenshots section I noticed this pic http://images.stardock.com/ss/shotstore/19/The%20Universe/shipstrategies.jpg I've had a look but I can't seem to find the option to do this, is the feature still in the game?
just like how when you settle a gas giant, the "Class #" refers to it's moon, and then you get to build on it's moon Settling a gas giant in galciv2? Dont think I've ever seen a gas giant above class 0. Am I just unlucky?
Wow, some of the designs on here are really impressive. Are these done using the default ship designer in-game or has an external application been used?
Got a reply from tech support saying to try updating my graphics card drivers and see if the problem persists. I updated my laptop ATI drivers about 3 weeks ago I believe so thought I had the newest version. Maybe I don't.. Got to go to work now unfortunately, but will try looking for updated drivers when I get back. Anyone else had this problem, only to find updating their drivers solved it?
OK, I just wondered if I had not seen the option. Great ingame music by the way. The drengin tracks make me feel suitably evil
Is there still the ability to use custom mp3s for the game music? Just curious as can't see it on the menu. Though the music in Galciv2 is much better than that in galciv1
