If the population cost of the pioneer was removed completely from the game, would it really be a big problem? It seems like it would simply fix the exploit, and it's not like you can city-spam anyway since locations are limited.
I am answering the question behind both our arguments, "Is it better for the game experience overall, for most players, to be prompted when research or building is empty?" My answer is no.
Actually, I can see what you are saying. When I played Civilization. I always thought that the fact that they prompted me to pick a new research really took away something from the game and made it a less complete
Hand holding means telling you which research to pick, which buildings to choose and which enchantments to use. It's not handholding if the UI simply points out that you have to make a decision, or better informs you of the current situation. The challenge of the game should be in figuring out which strategic choices to make, not remembering that choices have to be made at all.
These are the types of UI improvements I've asked for since day 1. A simple DO NOT LET ME END TURN when I have stuff left to do option. Endless Space is a good example of a 4X that got the interface right in this regard.
I'm seriously disappointed if fixing known exploits/bugs is a low priority just because it's a single player game. That's just sloppy.

My game crashed about 12 or so turns in. Is there a dump file located some where I should paste?
Whelp. I got about 12 turns in and the game crashed. Disappointing.
Hmm, wait, is the map pack just included by default? I see the map types there from it. I didn't realize that. Does it have the improvements to random map generation as well?
Do you not sell the map pack on steam for LH?
Steam shows no option to get the map pack for Legendary Heroes. Is it not possible to get it for this?
I realise people have a love hate relationship with steam. My question is a simple one. If the internet goes down and I try to load Legendary Heroes, will it still load? My present understanding is it won't. Previous to Steam Fallen Enchantress through Stardock meant it resided on my machine and was independent of the internet. Not so with Legendary Heroes on Steam. How many people around the world have internet failures, and accordin
Guys guys guys, I'm sure all this stuff will be fixed in the next expansion! [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Saying "just don't use it" is NEVER how you properly balance a game.
Well, at least we have a way to do it, even if it's a huge pain in the ass and we have been begging for a simple in game solution to this for fucking ever.
You can't put quality-of-life UI enhancements as bullets points on a store page, so they get a lot less attention. That seems to be why baffling UI decisions seem to still exist in this game.
I'd strongly suggest turning off cloud save. (that can be done in Steam)
That shouldn't be the solution.
There’s no longer any reason to ever have a city idle (which is why it’s tempting to force players to assign a city to do something before ending the turn, we’ll see what the beta testers say).
Yes! DO IT! DOOOOOO IT! I've been asking for this forever! Don't let players not select a research as well.
Auto selecting next unit after moving each doesn't appear to work correctly. Can we *please* get an option to lock end turn when units have not all moved (or been placed to guard or whatever)?
How do I enable full screen at non-native resolution? I run games at a lower resolution than my desktop for performance reasons.
Quoting Cymsdale, reply 36 People having crashing issues with Steam, was your computer built in 1998? *ROFL* Didn't I say so?! To quote myself from another thread: I bet the Steam fanbois around will have a suitable explanation like: You're a dumbass or that's your rig malfunctioning and not Shit errr Steam.
Steam issues are most often PEBCAK, so it was a very safe b
Very happy with the Steam only switch, because now it means I'll get a Steam key for my free copy. I hate FE being installed through a separate updater. People having crashing issues with Steam, was your computer built in 1998?
I'm all for Steam only for one simple reason. I wanted my free copy of FE to be a Steam key, but it wasn't. Now that the expansion is steam only, it's forcing them to give me one. Paradox is another company that has switched to steam only, because they found out that while the anti-steam customers are loud, they make up a VERY small percentage of total users.

I keep looking back to this game with each patch to see if the UI changes I want are in, and am always disappointed. The current UI of this game is holding me back from really diving in.
I agree, and think that the UI could be much better in this game than it is.
The UI issues around this is honestly my biggest hangup with this game. Look at games like Civ 5 and Endless Space for much much better ways to manage the "flow" of a turn. It's not uncommon for me in this game to go "****!, I just wasted a turn or two for my city!" While giving the UI attention will take a lot more work, a simple solution is to just have the following features: * A option to BLOCK end turn if there are any idle cities or non-sentry units with moves left.
