Personally I would like to see around 16 Demigods. That said, GPG says it's quite expensive to make Demigods. I'm willing to pitch in for the first 2 but after that we'll have to see.
I would pay for additional demigods but I think the game needs somewhere between 20-30 dg's.
Canine
Fact: Players who play with there buddies vs pugs are fking pro! / Not.
Yes Stardock could find a new method of monetization if they placed ads within the desync error windows. If you do, you owe me a cut for the idea!
Ok lol made me laugh but yes Desync ruins games and also when someone quits or rage q's it could take a bunch of players with him as well. Pretty well ruins the games. Hopefully they are working on fixing this soon.
double post
"Personally, I think the long-term solution is for us just to host the games entirely. That’s what we’re doing in Elemental for its multiplayer – our servers host the entire thing from the start." Please implement this as soon as you can. This will allow for lag free games and each user does not have to worry about someone elses latency, spikes, or simspeed to slow the game down or
Great post and this is the reason I buy all of your games blind lol (got burned this time). Your vision and the fact you dont pull any punches. I really hope you can get this game fixed. After the mplayer issues are fixed build the community and release more dg's.
I think frustrating sums it up. The lobby issues seem to be solved(Thank you SD) but then the true test is when the game starts. I would say at least 60% of the games I have played result in the game being over within 5-10 minutes. You have no idea if your game is going to stutter or be lag free. Most of the time the games are not too enjoyable. You either have a crappy host, someone has a pentium 400 mhz comp with a simspeed of 0, or you have someone whos ping starts s
My friend is having the same problem and it is a huge disadvantage. Most of the games are played with favor on now as well.
Eternal great post. I just learned a little bit more about Erebus now.
dont think thats so anoying... rather that than people get dropped instantly everytime there is a drop in connection. the times i could play the game i did see the pop up screen come up and then after a few seconds connection was remade.
I have been actually starting to experience this a lot more. It is so annoying someone else drops and I get booted as well.
anything over 150 begins pushing it. 50-150 = Normal game, no lag, enjoyable 150-200 = Playable with mild stutters/freezes 250+ = Frequent Lag/Freeze, major stuttering, unenjoyable play People keep perpetuating the myth that 350 is fine because the game uses a net lag of 350, but it is simply not true. I suspect these are people who have high pings in game. [/quote
Not a big fan of the campaign. I love the endless replayability of games like sins, civ etc with random world generators. If they do add a campaign please put it on the bottom of the list.
From the coding perspective, I'm planning on making the ST mod shell as clean is possible, because previously quite a few folks expressed interest in combining TCs into a supermod of sorts (Star Trek, Battlestar, Star Wars, Stargate all in one mod, basically). So, I'll try to make this mod as unique as possible (I'm even considering going through all the 5k strings in the string file and giving them unique IDs so they wouldn't be overlapping with anything, but that would obviously be a rat
Very nice upgrades thank you will be downloading once complete.
Oh wow I am looking forward to this mod. Thank you. Hopefully Uzii's mod will be compatible with yours adds a nice dimension with the extra planets etc. BOTF was awesome but the tactical 3d combat graphics were awful unfortunately. Great game though otherwise.
Ok hi all this is the first time i am posting here...i had played ur previous versions of the mod with no problems, but i encountered sometime strange with this new version i had loaded the mod from my options tab in game and yes the mod appears there and at my main game options screen it displays sinplus ok great, but when i loaded up a singel custom map nothing was changed, research was back to vanilla and so was all the changes i had in the old version of this mod, and i tried it 3 tim
Actually I am having the exact same problem. It seems during midgame when I have larger fleets I do not see any weapons effects. I have all of the graphics details on high or highest except bloom is off. Vista 64 Intel Core2 Duo E6850 3.0 GHZ 4 GB RAM XFX Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB All drivers and bios is updated.
Ever since I changed the combat to "instant battles" I have not had any crashes and have been able to complete the game many times. I also would like to mod creators to authorize my forum access as it has been over a month.
I am having the ship model graphics issue as well. Reinstalled game and updated ati 9800 pro drivers still there.
Hi I just wanted to send a thank you to the mod creaters. The amount of detail is amazing. I love the music and the detail in the ships and races. Amazing atmosphere and it truly feels like a sequel to BOTF. Unfortunately after I start fleet battles with enemy ships the game usually crashes. I hope you continue working on this amazing mod.
