I don't really like this. It makes the individual factions lose their flavor if they are all using the units I created. It kind of makes sense if I designed that unit when playing that specific faction. But IMO the AI should not grab units created for one faction and build them for other factions. The factions already feel rather vanilla for a Fantasy game, and having each have their own units does help with that.

I tend to get wacky unit movement when I'm trying to move to a square that is on the slope of a mountain. Instead of going to the square I've chosen the unit scurrys off somewhere else. Usually if you rotate the map, you can get it to work properly. But there's clearly a bug going on somewhere. Note, I'm not talking about trying to get to an inaccessible square, the squares I'm talking about are on a mountain side but are accessible, in fact there&#
I recommend the following GUI improvements: We need a way of telling what units are in a city from the Strategic Map. I could have sworn Elemental had this showing little unit roundels on the city name and it worked fine. Is there a reason why this was taken out? When viewing the Unit Details of a hero, it would be nice if we could move between the
I killed Torax and placed his head in my capital. The capital correctly shows a growth bonus of 10%. However, instead of giving a Gildar bonus it actually says "Head of Torax (-100%)"! So I'm losing all my Gildars.

Still not seeing it either out on the West Coast.
What exactly does having more population do? Do I get more gildar from having a larger population because of tax? It's not explained
If nothing else having a larger population upgrades your city to the next city-level which is needed for the better improvements. Using essence to improve the land is no longer in the game. You used to have to permanently expend essence to prepare the land before building each of your cities. If the manual discusses it, it must have been written before the current release. Essence now controls your maximum amount of mana you can have. You expend mana by casting spells, but it re-accrues at 1 mana point per turn up to your current essence level. If you research the "Imbue Champion" spell
AIUI the random mobs are determined by the player with the adventure techs. As any of the factions research adventure techs, larger and stronger monsters will appear in the wilderness. You'll notice from time to time you'll get messages that some random group of adventurers (not yours) accidentally delved too deeply into a dungeon and let powerful monsters out, so there does seem to be a "logical", "storylike" explanation for why the wilderness is getting more dangerous. It's quite expensive and gives a +1 Health Regen and +5 Health for 25 gold and 2 material per unit. The description is "this pack contains various items used by medical practitioners." I just got to the point
You cannot be stationed within the city when casting the spell.
I find this one particularly baffling. Just seems like a really strange design decision.
Also I think you have to click on the actual city center square when you cast the spell. Other squares in the city do not seem to work. I had quite a bit of trouble getting it to work, and ended up creating this thread on it yesterday.

You just go into the town and the option is in there somewhere. I don't have the game up so don't remember where it was exactly, but it wasn't hard to fi
I'm getting the same thing. In some places it looks fine, but in either places the text has a serious case of the jaggies, which makes it difficult to read.
Elementium is used as a component on Legendary Shields. I assume it's a component on some other very high level magic items as well.
Glad I wasn't the only one having trouble Cryptomancer. I played around with it a bit more. From what I can tell, your caster cannot be actually inside the city in order to cast the spell. Also the only square in the city which the spell can be cast on is the original center square. None of the other squares will work.
How do you cast a spell on a city? There are a number of spells like Nature's Bounty (+1 to Food on City) which are supposed to be cast on a city. I can't figure out how to do this. I've tried casting it while the caster is in a specific city, and that doesn't seem to do anything. I've tried clicking on the cast button and then clicking on the city, or the city title, or the city in the navigation city and party list on the top left of the screen. None of these seem to
Personally I was pretty happy to see Frogboy's announcement of changes to the City Building. I found having to build a whole bunch of houses each time the city grew in size rather boring. With one city, focusing on city building was manageable. But I can't imagine having to babysit five to ten cities with that level of detail.

So if I have a female descendent that grows up into a very

I had this problem and it turned out it was because I had changed my password for the Elemental forum and this was linked to my Stardock/Impulse Account. I wasn't logged in on Impulse anymore and did not see any feedback on that in the Impulse client (I can't remember how I figured it out). On a related note, it sure looks like we're sending our passwords in clear text when logging into the Elemental forum. Is this a good idea if that same password is used to access digita
On razing cities, the Great Fire of London took about three days and didn't completely destroy the city. The ancient Romans took roughly a fortnight for just the burning part of their razing of Carthage; they also destroyed the city walls and the harbor. Stone walls and buildings don't burn, but if you're really pissed at an enemy, you can take the time to tear them down with siege engines.
And don't forget to add in additi
