I don't have a key on "My Downloads". It just says "Coming soon" and under that instructions on how to register the code (that it doesn't show me) on steam.

Surely there will be those who will make some one liner attempt to dismiss this tactic, but in even a less competent team this is an incredibly effective strategy. I LOL at those who respond with their single player mindset of, "Oh, but I have THIS (insert whatever skill here) to make it USELESS!!!111!!." Thats not the point. In a team game with 3 or 4 other players this tactic is devastating and shows how to play the UB very effectively. Odds are, you will not have (w
If the game is balanced it shouldn't really matter what everyone chooses. What you are seeing are people who would prefer to change characters rather than strategy.
I thought I would share this on the tech support forum since they are usually only filled with problem reports and not a whole lot of feedback when things start working for (some) people. I guess your timing fixings corrected whatever issues I've been having playing. I can now get in and play multipayer games! The bad news is, since I've been relegated to playing AI all this time, I now SUCK HARDCORE at playing real people. ;) Thanks for continuing to iron all th
Oh, and this was another good point someone made from the Erebus thread:
That has been the problem against the forums. Demigod was never balanced for 1v1 matchups and doesn't need to be. It is a team game.

I can wholeheartedly agree with this. Now if they can just make absolutely sure it's not a 1v1 with a bunch of AI filler character games in the skirmish and panth
Great status report(s). One thing I have noticed monitoring the traffic is that a lot of players give out invalid IP's like 192.168.x.x as their IP. So when I look at my connection tables in the router, there is often times a player that has 192.168.x.x as their IP. These players always cause the game to fail to start and is often why you will see one player that can't connect to anyone, but everyone else is connected and then it just hangs. As far as AI players for n
1) I support Stardock by paying for the game 2) Copyright law is not gray at all. It's pretty clear. Just because a bunch of underage and/or irresponsible people who can't/won't pay for it steal it, doesn't make it right or "cool." 3) If your friends band is a cover band it is covered by the fees the venue has to pay to play all the music when your friends band isn't there. Someone is indeed paying. 4) Of course it was a foolish, and stupid, thing to
The only character I've seen that makes me think it might need balancing is Unclean Beast. When it gets to end game, and UB has all the attack speed and move speed items -- forget about it. Massive out of hand DPS. DPS so insane that it can remove buildings faster than the rook or qot. Which is just wrong.
After I post this I am going to get a refund, and probably will never buy another game from this company. Utterly disappointed.
If that's your attitude you are setting yourself up for disappointment after disappointment. You are running an OS that was barely ever supported to begin with. Even Microsoft doesn't want to support it. There is no major game company that I am aware of that officially supports XP 64-bit. It's always been, "if it works f
I have the same issue and I never see the "Cannot connect to NAT facilitator" message. I think I saw it one time after I hit cancel. Edit: I'm running Vista x64 too. It would be great to see if there was some commonality between all the folks that can't connect and ones that can.
lol it's so easy to make a post like this when it happens to be working for you. For some of us, there is NO solution to make this work because of factors beyond our control, like buggy net code or the ISP doesn't pass traffic fairly, etc. What a selfish and arrogant post to make. I'm a network engineer by trade and I can't make this game work for multiplayer. So if you want to play the "I figured it all out with my posse" just go away. You should read this
Impulse uses normal HTTP ports to update so if you are surfing the web (which you obviously are) then Impulse works. Nice try though. ;)
Not sure why Stardock would be using NAT-T. Thats for IPSEC encapsulation and has nothing to do with p2p or network gaming. Or is it a buzzword for some in-house thing? I'm glad to see someone with the Tomato firmware is able to play. I'm running the same setup without the MLPPP and I can't get a multiplayer game going to save my life. This would indicate it isn't the router but either my ISP (AT&T) or maybe its the fact that I have to use PPPOE.
Bump. This post needs a sticky. I think most people miss it.
The game is pretty simple to figure out, but these multiplayer issues make the game worthless. The review scores are accurate right now. If reviews always bashed games like this when they are deserving then we probably wouldn't be in the position now where everyone is a beta tester for every new game that comes out. Apologists need to go away. Valid criticism is not whining. Most of you don't remember (or probably were not alive) when there wasn't an Internet t
Well I'm a huge TOS Star Trek fan. I hate everything after that for the most part, especially TNG, DS9 and Voyager style ships. They are too obviously cheesy 80's sensability to me. So that being said, I picked up the new U.S.S. Enterprise toy from the new movie coming out today. And I have to say, sitting next to the original NCC-1701 from the TV shows and the NCC-1701/1701-A from the original movies, it actually looks like a great natural progression. When I first sa
First, here is my setup. I have a speedstream dsl modem (on AT&T/sbcglobal) which is configured as a DSL bridge. Basically this means it's completely invisible to TCP/IP, it just passes ethernet traffic to the DSLAM at the central office. I have to use PPPOE to access the Internet which means my packet size is 1492, not 1500 which is the normal ethernet packet size (I note this because I wonder if this might be factor in connections -- this affects MTU, MSS and packet fr
They need to use the ClipCursor and GetClipCursor functions in the code to keep the mouse cursor in the game window. Its easy to overlook this if you don't code or playtest on dual monitors.
I haven't been able to play multiplayer since day 1. Just cannot connect to anyone and no one can connect to me. I do networking for a living and I can't get it to work at all, so I feel really bad for the folks that don't. This game is going to bomb if it's this temperemental in the multiplayer mode -- it's what the game is all about.
At least you can connect. I can't connect to anyone at all and no one can seem to connect to me. Actually, I take that back. I was able to connect to someone 1 time. But they dropped out before everyone else connected. I'm an engineer at one of the 3 major ISP's and I can't get this game to work online at the office or at home. This is some seriously buggy network code. I would suggest that is why it takes so long to connect.
Ah this is good to know, thanks! You might want to fix the version number on the next release to match theirs as I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one wondering this. :)
On the developer site for World of Goo they are already up to version 1.3 which fixes a lot of bugs in the prior versions. Any ETA as to when these newer versions will show up on Impulse? At this point I'm wishing I had bought it straight from their site since they are DRM free anyway. :(
Ok I'm sold. :)
I'm a bit concerened by the system requirements saying "64-bit may not be supported." Unless that simply means that the code will not be 64-bit native, considering the expected release date that's pretty silly. I certainly won't be buying it if it won't run on my 64-bit OS and by then an even larger percentage of the market will be running 64-bit, especially as RAM prices get cheaper and cheaper.
I'm having yet another issue installing a free theme with MyColors and Impulse. This time it's the new Halloween theme. Impulse lists this theme on my registration page as [no serial number needed] and sure enough when I click install, it says a serial number is needed. Unlike the Diamond Theme, which you can get a working serial from the online store by buying a "free" theme (how is that for intuitive???), or the Burgundy theme which was added with a serial number
