my 2 cents - the Saturday before EWoM came out my computer died.... I do not mean virus - I mean mother board busted.... anyway - I have been lurking on the forums since release and have already acquired my copy but have been waiting until i can replace my computer to play. i thought the reviews were very disheartening but i maintain my confidence that Stardock will patch and fix any problems and i am looking forward to getting a new computer and playing in the next few months (Christmas?)...

i am not sure if this is relevant but what about certain monsters creating/settling/taking cities. i love the idea of chances for monsters of various types forming armies. this i think gives rise to possible monster heroes or leaders. i think this would give a whole other avenue to approach. are the recruitable? do they have special abilities? thank you for making this game. i have been waiting a long time for something like this.

is it just me or did the interviewer seem like an a-hole?

As far as role playing games go there is nothing better than having a NPC/enemy hero that you actually get angry at.

How powerful will heroes and NPCs be? I like having powerful characters that contain a lot of role playing elements (stats, equipment, skill and abilities, etc.). Will Elemental have these types? Will they be something you can make very powerful? Will there be role playing elements associated with them? I would like to suggest having these larger than life characters in the game....

while there are many things that Gamestop does as a retailer that i understand it does seem that they really are getting tough on niche markets. i think they forget that gaming as a whole used to be a niche market.... they are part of an uncaring corporate machine....

I just want to be able to pre-order it...

per Customer service at Gamestop ( [email protected] ) there is no information in their system regarding Elemental: War of Magic. Is it possible for someone at Stardock to contact them since they do not want to listen to the person that will be spending money at their store? It is funny getting the cold shoulder when I am requesting something to purchase.

I am still not seeing this as a preorder available at my local gamestop.... i just want to make sure i get my copy the day it comes out.... i do get an employee discount and i do mention it to my customers (that i am looking forward to it coming out) but i would like to give them the option to preorder as well.... i do not know if this has any meaning or if i am just crying.....

IMO: turn-based/stat heavy combat is the way to go. I understand that turn-based is a pipe dream at this point but I would like to see strong 'hero class' types of units as well as experience for troops, equipment/artifacts/gear, hero/troop unique abilities, unit combos/bonuses and damage types. I know it is easier said than done. [e digicons]:grin:[/e]

Will the combat system be real time or turn based? If I get a vote I love turn based. I think this adds a lot to the designing your own unit type of philosophy. I understand wanting to keep the pace going but good turn based strategy/role playing are difficult to come by.

Will Elemental be available for pre-order at major retail outlets (ie Gamestop)? I will have a chance to use a discount and/or gift cards for purchase.
