52 here... grown up with boardgames (Avalon Hill etc), still playing them. Thanks to Stardock for this new TBS. Played GalCiv I&II for years and I think Elemental might share its longevity. Leave the maps in the default folder. Enable mods in the options, then the maps will show up

In the gameplay-options you can check or uncheck "auto-move camera in tactical battles"

You can build more experienced troops in the campaign. I was able to do that just before meeting the trolls. And as nayphen said, you can build them in stacks, that helps a lot. You can't research those things in the campaign, but these abilities are activated through some events, sometimes a bit too hidden in the event-text.

The book arrived today... in Germany! That's what I really call "on schedule" [e digicons]:D[/e] BUT: where is all the time I need to play the game AND read the book???? When will the download of time be available on Impulse???

SBgerman, I'm from Germany too, and I can tell you that the download with Impulse works great. No need to get a physical CD.
