Hi, I haven't been here in a while but I am looking forward to the game. I have purchased a new PC since I've last been here and I would like to load the beta on it. Unfortunately, I can't find where to download that Stardock Central (or whatever it was called). Can someone kindly direct me to it? Thanks!

Incidentally, is that CariElf singing in the theme song?
How does ordering work exactly . . . can I download the beta as soon as I preorder it? I suppose the above is a silly question but I thought I read some time ago that there was a deadline to order before getting the next beta or something like that. Am I way off base here? Thanks!

Well . . . I tried pre-ordering GalCiv II but when I got to the screen where I am to verify all the contents, I noticed that the quantity field says 2 instead of 1 (and, of course, the price was doubled). I did NOT submit the order but, instead, went back to the home page and tried all over again. This time, the quantity said 3. Can anybody help? As much as I am looking forward to this game, I have no need or craving to purchase 2, 3 (or even 4?
PJ - I agree. I think ship design at a "mild" level could be fun. I just don't want it to be a 20 step process.
Hey Chronus, as to your first problem I don't have a clue - as to the second problem - whats the problem??
You misunderstood ... I said "goofy issues", not "problem". Since when is free-for-all spending a problem??? ;) LOL
Hello, I have a couple of goofy issues going on that I hope someone is willing and able to help me with. 1) The sound on that movie scene wherein my frieghter is attacked doesn't work. I thought I've seen this issue before on the forums but I can't find it. However, I did find some references to a www.Stardock.com/files/ms_mp3codec.exe. Does this resolve the problem or is there something else I should do? 2) On my current Altarian Prophecy game (2nd mission), the mo
Wow! Cool site! Oh . . . um . . . here I be.
What I liked about BOTF was how borders were respected (at least during peace time). I also liked how all the ships moved at the same time. :)
Litcube, I'm not a modder (nor have I experimented with the cheat feature) so please bear my question. Did you take into account that in 20 turns the AIs may have racked up some points while exploring anomolies? Or is this something you can turn off while modding (or in cheat mode)?
I might be able to swallow them rush building one of these, but they filled up their system with the most powerful and expensive ship in the game.
Can minors buy ships from other civs?
I hope and am confident that ship design will not become such an integral part of the game that it slows down the quite brilliant "flow" which the current game design has somehow achieved.
I agree. Please do not make me go through 50 clicks of ship construction just to get to the part I really care about. Better yet, maybe ship construction can be an option? Yeah, I know: "Here they go with that 'options' speal again." ;p ;)
These questions seemed to have been here before. Can we have an official statement from the developers? :)
LOL at CenturionV. That's quite a list there, mister. :) Anyway, I would like to see enforced boundries. No more rival ships running around in your territory unless you gave them permission. No more building up your fleet next to an enemy planet and then declaring war. etc. etc. etc. Also ... at the risk of getting tomatos thrown at me ... I like the simultaneous turn feature that was presented in Birth of the Federation.
though in the past it did very little to my enemies
Really? Then I'll count my blessings. The past few arrivals of the Fundementalist in some of my games were the turning points of some massive, interstellar war. :)
Is it me or did 1.21 tone down the Drengin music volume in the diplomacy screen?
Ya know ... the scene that occurs when my trade route first gets attacked had the sound cut out from it in one of the recent patches. I hope 1.21 fixed it.
i even had object desktop splash screens appearing on start-up
I have this happen too. Why does this happen? (incidentally, I'm on XP) :notsure:
And welcome to the Metaverse, land of dreams and the loss of RL!
Thanks for the clarification, folks, regarding RL = Real Life. Each day, I get more acclimated (sp?) to GCR (Gal Civ Reality). :)
whats RL? hmm, I have a vague memory that it was something I used to have... thinking... ah, nevermind, cant have been anything important.
Um ... hmmmm ... okay, when you guys are finished laughing could you kindly let me in on the joke. What in the world is an RL? (and JA, for that matter) :notsure: Oh, and welcome, Gandalf!
