Quoting Rune_74, reply 21 Why did this get to a Civ 5 vs Elemental thread? It's a pretty natural comparison. There is a lot of overlap in the group of players to which both games appeal and the release date of Civ V is rapidly approaching. From my perspective, we've been cruising around the lake bailing water out of our boat for the last 3 weeks. Next week we come across a

So what? that has nothing to do with this game. SS is a Troll Please do not feed it. Lee
Yeah was just getting tired of little quips like that from him just about everywhere.
I doubt we are going to see huge massive armies in game, since it will be basically redesigning the whole game. I am happy with the battle sizes if they can beef up tactical battles which I think is the important part now.
1st. Let units move in initiative order (not the I go you go system used now). Let initiative be a random factor + training bonus + armor factor + amy leader bonus if any. Example: Talent - Expert Tactician - +2 initiative to units in the army commanded by a champion or sovereign with this talent. Expert Unit gets +2 initiative bonus due to training. That means that an expert unit commanded
It does look awesome huh?
I would like to see: 1) More actions for units in tactical combat(ie charging, defending, flanking.) 2) Not every unit should move 2 spaces:) horses and wild animals and generally fast creatures should move faster then your average guy. 3) Resistances, magic and elemental, as well as weaknesses to both to add strategy. 4) Less randomized rolls (been described to death on here) 5) Troop placement when you start battles.
I think fleshing out tactical combat is a must...not every creature should be moving two spaces(I want my mount to matter), I want defensive units, I want more abilities for those units:) I would also like ships and navies in general. I would like magic fleshed out with more over land spells. I would also like to see elemental resistances and magic resistances. just a few things I want:)
I never seam to have many horses in my games.
This was pure awesome, I think I may do one of these:)
We definatly need a lot more mount choices....even if it is just some sort of art change to the current ones with more stats. Mounts are to cool in the game to be so rare.
Ok, I was recently playing a game as an Empire race and I conqoured a city that had the bonus ally as an Ogre. I was pretty excited about getting this then I realized my faction was not allowed to use this. Talk about a downer. So, I was thinking why can't my section use them. Why not make it so they will fight for you but have a better chance of turning against you in tactical combat? The more evil/good they are depending on you
This is the standard for most 3d strategy games.
I think they need numerical values for movements. You can at the moment use the mouse wheel for fine tuning.
Have you tried to remove the forrests? I heard that monsters spawn more within them.
- All units behave the same regardless of their equipment. Spearmen act the same way as swordsmen, macemen, and even cavalry. The only difference is the damage they inflict, and how much they can move. Spearmen aren't better against cavalry, cavalry is just a faster unit, no charge hability or anything of the like, etc. This means you can just make 1 type of units with high attack and high defense and just spam the hell out of it. Attach some skill
I would like a certain point where it is out of range....right now archers are ridiculously over powered.
Quoting TOWDrac, reply 10 No! NO! Don't you dare compare Elemental's style to WoW. On behalf of the entire universe, I am sad. Indeed. World of Warcraft looks WAY better than Elemental.
Um, ok...can't say I agree with you....this game looks great, perhaps your settings are all at low?
It's the fact each side takes turns, you know you can use your whole group at a time...every single thing basically moves two blocks when moving. Lack of abilities is a big one as well. For instance a wolf should move farther then your archers in a given turn. Ranges have to be added for ranged attacks like bows...as well LOS. I have to admit with the spell replacements a modder did, spells look pretty cool. I don't think it

Even around here there are people with applicable experience, and others who have simply done the whole thing a few times before and know what they're talking about. (But yes, some of the stuff in that Qt3 thread is nonsense. My only post on that f
I remember seeing a screenshot with a dragon surrounded by hundreds of soldiers during the games development. This was likely from the RTS phase of the early game. Problem is, Stardock pitched that screen as a major one, leading a lot of people to get confused. Seems most battles in Elemental have a max of 10 guys now.
Nope....I think I had something like 40 guys in a recent battle.
Ok I have been playing a game tonight and having a pretty good time, I thought I would put down some thoughts that may or may not be helpful. I am using the mod on here that replaces the spells graphics and has bug fixes. I'm going to use point form for ease of viewing. OVERLAND MAP: -I noticed as the game went on, tons and tons of monsters spawned around, mostly standing and doing nothing. -I conquered a ind

Input from people who have never played the game and/or don't have access to the game in its current state is worthless. No it's not. It is a bit more productive than fanboys praiseing the devs and ignoring problems with the game. I vote kicking of
