Tactical combat is too slow. If anything will keep me from enjoying this game long-term, this is it. 1. Let us place units. 2. Let us let the AI move units for us, but let us break in. (The AI is pretty smart, right?) 3. Let us turn off combat animations or speed them up. (I prefer speedup. It's less teleportish.) 4. Let us scroll the tactical combat map by the screen edges. 5. Let us turn off the auto-center effect of unit selection.

Bug: If I am in a campaign and I want to load a campaign autosave, I have to go to the main menu and click the campaign button. If I click on a campaign to load, EWOM crashes. Fortunately, this doesn't happen when I first load the game, so I can still load campaign saves. Here is my log: http://pastebin.com/jA03HVvH

Please add a "Load Game" option to the escape menu. This is especially critical for campaigns, as the act of getting to the campaign load game screen causes your current campaign to be abandoned. EDIT: Sorry - Similar to https://forums.elementalgame.com/386345 But it's even more critical now that the campaign mode is active.

Reply to VSync? in WOM Support

Ahhhhhhhh... Forgot about that. That's wonderful. Thank you.

Is there no longer an option for VSync? I've checked my Prefs.ini, and I can't seem to find a way to enable it. I'm getting screen tearing on the zoomed-in map.

Bug: If I open the hiergamenon, the ESC key doesn't close the book. It does nothing. When I close the book by clicking on the X, it queue's up the option screen. I then have to click "back to game" once for each ESC I pressed. If I bang on the ESC key 5 times, I have to click on "Back to Game" 5 times. Feature Request: If I hit ESC to bring up the options screen and then hit ESC again, can you make it so that it automatically returns to the game?

Where is the setting that lets you speed up combat i.e. making units move/animate faster? Can you hand things over to the AI to have them move your troops, and then cut in? Why can't you access the options or main menu from combat?
The fourth is the Master Quest (through Adventure research and doing a long quest chain). If you're looking for tips, make sure that you have Janusk's advice enabled in the options and recruit him when he appears at the start of the game. I also had a DirectX crash-to-desktop when I tried to alt-tab out and back in. Otherwise I'd be using exact names for things in this post. This issue reappeare

The Heira-whats-it-con's "basic concept" page says that there are 4 ways to win, but it only describes 3: Conquest, Diplomacy, and the Spell Of Mastery. What's the 4th, and why isn't it listed? I'm a little disappointed in the amount of tips available in the encyclopedia. I was hoping for more tutorials. Yes, I played around with the beta, but I still feel like I'm staring at a base of a learning cliff. The game doesn't feel approachable at all. How about a

So much so that I will never buy a game directly from Stardock again.
Quoting Sinij, reply 8 a. If I pre-ordered and beta tested, am I beta tester or pre-order? I think you just answered your own question.
Not true. There were some invite-only beta testers. I preordered in February and played every beta that preordering gave me access to. Yet, I doubt I'll get to play tomorrow.

I've been in the beta for awhile now, but I haven't really been playing. I've just been popping in to see the progress of the game. Now that we have something approaching the release build, I've started tinkering more. But I keep getting the feeling that I don't have a clue on what I'm supposed to be doing. Can someone give me some advice on what techs/spells/buildings/strategies I should be focusing on during the first turns?

My 2 cents... I don't want ranged units on foot to move and fire on the same turn. Fast ranged units should be able to move and fire. I like unlimited counter-attacks. But I'll settle for limited counter-attacks if Stardock adds an AI routine that can exploit it.

Thank you for adding the loader - the app that Impulse loads, which in turn loads Elemental or lets you read the manual. There is one frustrating thing about it, though. It's not always on top, it has no taskbar icon, it has no alt-tab presence (in W7), and re-running the launcher app doesn't bring the current one to the top and make it the active window. I buried the loader under a bunch of windows and forgot about it (I was reading the manual).
