Speeding up Combat?

Where is the setting that lets you speed up combat i.e. making units move/animate faster? 

Can you hand things over to the AI to have them move your troops, and then cut in?

Why can't you access the options or main menu from combat?

Unfortunately, your answers are: doesn't exist that I've seen, no, I don't know. :P

Once you know for sure that you've won, you can use the auto-resolve button that replaces the Kingdom Report button from the strategic map (on the left hand side of the bottom UI bar during tactical battles), but it just auto-finishes the battle, doesn't let you cut in anywhere.
