http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8214163/Elemental/debug.err
Yeah, I am kind of a dork. That is the wrong file. Here it is again. Memory Dump I need beauty sleep.
Hmmmm, did so and still will not start.
After adjusting the resolution, Elemental minimized and sent me to my desktop. I then could not maximize the game. Only the "Close" option was available when right-clicking in the toolbar. After three attempts, I was able to shut it down from the task manager. Currently, cannot start the game. I Select the game in Impulse, press run, click "play game", the play game screen disappears and then nothing happens.. EDIT: wrong file
Same here as with .802, but I still do not get the memory dump file DXdiag https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8214163/Elemental/DxDiag.txt Debug http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8214163/Elemental/debug.err
Ahh, much nicer. [e digicons]:d[/e]
1. CLick the "show mini-map" button. 2. Click the "Show terrain bonus" button. 3. Mini-map border stays, but with no map features inside at all. Completely see through.. 4. Cycle to the next size of the mini map and the mini-map comes back. 5. Reproducible every time. I will check and make sure, but I believe if I turn on the terrain bonus first and not the mini-map, I do not have this problem.
Ahhh, that makes sense. My kid and I only had a 2 or 3 year disparity.
I just had this again. I was able to reach the research menu through the circular icon just to the right of the portrait. Then on the left margin where the other kingdom options are I selected the Kingdom Detail button (that title is not right). There was a crash and again no dump .zip file.
It does not happen every time, but I have had it occur -when I click the Kingdom overview button. -when I get into the overview and select research -when I select dynasty -it has also happened when I select one of those option from the main screen when no unit city is selected and the research/dynasty/etc. options are shown in the lower left panel. And as said in a couple places, no memory dump file is created. &nbs
I have had this same issue. Sometimes the Kingdom Overview does open and hit happens when I make a selection from within the Overview. I have also clicked on an empty space on the map and the different selections from within the Overview show up on the left side of your "taskbar". SOmetimes those work and sometimes they also cause a crash. I would estimate 10 crashes with no dump file.

Oh I agree, but you would be surprised at how many gamers that are not as attentive to development and who do not visit the number of gaming websites tat we do, still refuse to purchase on line. Of course, that is changing fairly rapidly, but the online distribution is still, relatively new. I participated in a Beta for another game that was only going to be released via download (initially) and people on those general forums said they would not purchase if they could n
August vs. February seems like a huge cap.
That's where the shelf space comes into play. The developers have stated that if they miss the August retail window, the next point at which they can get the game put on the shelves is February. Or something similar to that. I think it is assumed/theorized that retailers have some sort of requirements that if they are to stock a publisher's g
Brad has repeatedly said, however, that he thinks they can make it. The only thing that would hold them up is the A.I. I am sure, though, nailing down when the A.I. is good enough to be competitive against the developers is not an exact science. Sadly, retail shelf space for PC games in the Southeastern U.S. is abysmal. My guess is that, that is the case in a lot of places. So, it is not surprising that the Christmas season space gets gobbled up.
A human player will pull up the mini map and figure out which general direction they should explore. The AI? Nope. I won’t let it do that. It doesn’t get to “know” anything about a map.
I had never, ever thought of it from that standpoint. I imagine there is also a difficulty in managing the A.I. for the wide spectrum of skill levels among customers. What is difficult for the average
June 3rd >>Fast Forward>> June 10th. Oh look at that.
The best part, for me, about X-Com (which is probably my favorite) is the destructible terrain. I have always and always will prefer turn-based battles. I loved the use of line of site and cover in the Jagged Alliance series. Additionally, I like any system that allows for a unit's elevation to affect its ability to perform. SO, how 'bout Elemental battles put all that together just for me. Is that too much to ask?
Many are discussing the multiplayer difficulties with turn based. A chief complaint in that are is the time it is going to take and I completely agree. I remember playing HoMM II using fan made software back in the olden days and those games would last an eternity. Although, I think Elemental is going to have options that will scale down game length so that they are not insane like the HoMM series. Unless I am misremembering, however, Elemental has always been develope
