The Survivor Guide is a "quick start" strategy guide of sorts. There should be an icon for it in the same program group as Galactic Civilizations. There is also some useful information in the Encyclopedia (link at top of galciv.com) and this forum of course! ;) ~SDC~

Yeah, I think I was wrong about the higher PQ part. It was probably coincidence that the few purple stars I've found had good planets. ~SDC~

Just out of curiosity: Has anyone having this issue tried playing the cutscenes outside of the game with the Bink player? If so, does the sound play? The cutscenes are the *.bik files in the ...\Galactic Civilizations\movies directory. The Bink player can be downloaded from http://www.radgametools.com/down/bink/radtools.exe ~SDC~

I submitted a UP issue to the library this past weekend. I created it using HawaiiFive-O's awesome GalCiv Writer application. I was waiting to see if it would get published before saying anything. I'm not sure if it will pass Stardock's QA department and get published or not. *crosses fingers* :) ~SDC~

I know this is grossly off-topic. I was reading through the customer reviews of MOO3 at amazon.com and am surprised by the number of people calling it "Masters" (in the plural) of Orion. How can so many people be wrong about the title? Sort of reminds me of the days when I worked the helpdesk and had to hear countless people discuss their problems with "American" Online. Is this a symbol of american educational decline? Who knows. ~SDC~

I was disappointed in the first X-Men movie so if I had my choice I wouldn't go, but my wife wants to go to see Halle Berry (I think she's secretly attacted to her) ;) So, uh yeah - I'll be going. :D ~SDC~

Stardock is the developer, Strategy First is the publisher and Infogrames is the distributor. Ever wonder why MOO3 included that nifty ad for GalCiv? :) ~SDC~

I can't believe we're even having this discussion. It's a well known fact that the AI gets huge bonuses on incredible. Frobgoy has already discussed this in the forums and in the Library. Ellestar, perhaps you should educate yourself before making demands on Frogboy. Sheesh, it's people like you that could spoil Stardock's participation in these forums. Have some respect, will you? >:( Play on Intelligent or lower and the AI won't get any bonuses. ~SDC~

Yellow stars have the best chance of finding habitable planets, except for the rare purple star. Purple is supposed to have a better change of having high PQ planets. ~SDC~

It's not possible to steal technology using espionage. You can get technology by invading an enemy planet, but not through espionage. The minor race stealing technology thing is a random event, it will happen even if you have invested 0 in espionage. Also, if you think about it - you have to trade with the minor race to get, say stolen Drengin technology, why not just trade directly with the Drengin for it? ~SDC~

Darn, I was hoping that some of the deleted scores would boost my own pathetic Metaverse score. Checked today and my score is actually lower than before - ranked 1040th. Oh well, I suck but at least I'm still having fun playing the game. :) ~SDC~

I just installed the GalCiv Writer. Excellent app. I hope they add a link to the Encyclopedia > Fansites page. It's certainly worthy of it. ~SDC~
