When the minor civs get integrated will we be able to mod in our own?

I've also seen the bug where stars that aren't really there appear on the map. I think it may be related to starting a new game with an active game going because I've been restarting repeatedly to get a better homeworld and every now and then the ghost stars start appearing and I noticed the same thing happened in the vid after he started a new game. In my experience they only appeared in areas where I had cleared the fog of war by exploring there normally as opposed t
Have you guys considered scaling the beam effects in the battle viewer based on what size ship is firing them? The large beam effect for the doom ray and what not looks good when its being fired from a few large capital ships; but when its being fired from a ton of little fighters it gets overwhelming.
Random question/request. Will the ships from the ship design contest and the honorable mentions be available for download in the Steam workshop at some point?
Thanks Thecw, I went into the program for my Microsoft mouse and clicking the scroll wheel was set to the "flip" command whatever the hell that is. So I changed it to "middle click" and now the ship designer is working as intended.
You can click and hold the middle mouse button to move the ship around.
Tried it, that doesn't work for me.
Any way we could get some camera controls in the ship designer? I'd like to be able to admire my work from different angles.
I hate the warmonger penalties in Civ 5. If I get attacked I shouldn't be penalized for winning the war.
God yes. Being penalized for wiping someone out who attacked you is BS and I hate how long the penalty lasts. I mean I can conquer someone in 0 AD and everyone still hates my guts in the year 2000 AD. Making other civs temporarily leery of me is one thing; but f
> 1 . What specific features of diplomacy do you traditionally like the most? I want you to be as specific as you can be. Which parts of diplomacy from any game do you like the most? What parts do you remember long after playing the most? With the major civs, I particularly enjoy trading resources and coordinating wars against mutual enemies. With enemies I enjoy extorting them out of resources in order to end a war I'm winning.&nb
I upgraded to 340.52 and it fixed the problem for me.
Alright after updating the driver the text displays now. Thanks for the help Lucky Jack.
The Nvidia utility says my Driver version is 311.41. It checks for updates daily and I manually told it to check for an update after this problem and it claims its the latest driver although when I got to Nvidia's site it lists the latest driver as... 340.52. I'm going to manually download and update the driver rather than trusting the card to do it on its own and see if that has any effect.

Just bought my copy on Steam. I wanted to get the Founders edition; but with my currently low cash flow and inherent "frugality"(cheapness) I just couldn't bring myself to throw down a $100. $45 on the other hand is easier for me to rationalize.
Maybe the Drengin could start out with weapons; but planetary conquest early on will take a lot of resources so that it will take them a while to whittle down the defenses on a planet. A good analogy would be in Civ 5 where it takes a while before you can research siege tech so conquering anything takes a lot of effort.
The section on all of the planned resources in the game and how they'll be found in their own specific areas (asteroid fields, nebula, etc.) and I thought it was really neat; but I noticed that all of them were focused on improving your ships (shields/hull, weapons, sensors, etc). Any plans for resources that provide boosts to population growth, research, productivity or cultural influence or maybe luxury resources that improve happiness? Maybe some manner of spice that on
I favor looks cool over accurate number of parts when it comes to symmetry effecting functional parts.
Will there be any way to customize what our weapons fire or engine thrusters looks like? Color of beam weapons, color of engine thrusters, etc. Will there be any tools inside the editor that allow us to add decals, text or patterns to a ship on top of the base texture (something like nose art on WWII era planes or maybe just some racing stripes)? How difficult will it be to upload our own textures into the game? Would there be any way that we can see what a texture
In regard to Galactic and Strategic resources.... Will you be able to trade them with other societies like in CIV 5? On a side note, I've been playing a good bit of CIV 5 and an old forgotten gem called Star Trek: Birth of the Federation and I was wondering if you guys had any intent of possibly including other minor civilizations that aren't competing with you for victory like the City States in Civ 5 or the Minor Races in Star Trek: Birth of the Federa
Looking great. Only critique I have is that I don't much care for the shade of grey used for unexplored areas.
God, I loved Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Such a spectacular game, I'd kill for a sequel.
Module Concepts. 1 : Wormhole Generator, (Stargate, etc.), build one and you can teleport your ships from any starbase equipped with one to any other starbase equipped with one. 2 : Really Long Range Sensors. 3 : Jamming Device that blocks other civs sensors in the effected area (effectively cloaking the base and any ships in th
