Activision and Spyro might not be the best example to use. Technically the same studio has owned them since their creation. Universal just went through a string of corporate buy-outs which ended with them in Activisions hands. The IP was never individually sold as Universal owned it, not Insomniac, they were only contracted by Universal to create the game. I do get the main point tho. Stardock owns the IP via the bankruptcy sale when Atari went down the gurgler. Which, as long as the

Will Stardock be helping Fred & Paul with distribution or will their parent company be doing that? If Activision aren't involved and it's their own project they have been given the green light on couldn't they go to anyone for help or is it a tricky subject? Also, already planning two adventures, is this going to be post launch DLC, or possible directions for sequels if Origins does well? Either way sign me up, as long as we dont end up going down the Star Control 3, or StarCon ro
Quick question about the second phase of the Founders program. Are people that got selected for the first phase, but didn't have the expendable cash at the time, or missed out due to the small intake and not getting back fast enough etc perhaps going to receive an email or invite to the second phase when it opens up, or will we have to go through a similar screening type deal like when the first phase was announced?
Hmm..I'm not sure how I feel about this. The aliens speaking their own language is an interesting idea. But at the same time I always enjoyed the Star Control 2 3DO versions speech option. Their varied dialects and comical accents were always a joy to listen to. While I enjoyed the game on PC without speech originally, after playing the 3DO version and then having Ur-Quan Master's with its speech pack I've grown far more accustomed to hearing them talk and enjoying the banter with
I have been playing Star Control II via Ur-Quan Masters again recently and I must say. The alternate timeline or universe slant could work out really well if you do decide to run with that idea. It fits in with the game lore, even hailing back to Starcontrol II, with the whole Arilou/Orz and Androsynth story elements. It even mentions that Quazi-Space links to alternate realities where things play out differently. Signs point to the Androsynth being pulled into one of these alternate universe
I personally can not wait for this to come to fruition!! Thank you so much for finally bringing back this brilliant game series!! It sounds like you will give this the love and attention to detail it deserves, and talking to Fred and Paul about it and seeing if you can get them on board with the project gains you even more respect from me and the other Star Control fans I would imagine. As much as I would have liked a continuation of the series I think you are right to bypass Star Con
