The card is in the modem slot that I removed it's the bottom slot. The last time I tried anything I had to redo alot of stuff like wallpaper and it took away some things like desktop x and icon packager I guess I did something wrong.

yrag-I removed the dial-up modem because I don't use it and put in the card and hooked the monitor cable to it so it would work otherwise it doesn't, anyway it goes through start up allright but when it gets to desktop it's all blank. Do I need to change some settings somewhere or maybe it just won't work. Thanks, Richard

yrag-One modem card is for dial up and the other is ethernet I think, and the only choices for graphics in bios is on board or auto. What do you think? Richard

Just purchased a video card which at dell they say I have an empty slot but I looked and I don't. There are four white slots probably pci each has a card in it already, the two on the bottom are probably modem cards the next one up is probably a sound card the other one, I have no idea what it is, maybe for video or something else. On the box of the card it says ge force fx 5200 pci 128 mb ram ddr. I have sd ram not ddr I don't know if this makes a difference but anyway at dell they keep insist

Yrag My manual says I have agp graphics but when I talked to the guy at dell he said something about pci also, maybe I have both or is that possible anyway what do you recommend doing. He said something about it being compatible with the one I have. Anyway let me know, Thanks, Richard [Message Edited]

yragI like the setting on 24 bit do you think I would like it more on 32 bit pictures and icons seem clearer. I have a couple of screensavers that will only work on 16 or 32 bit not 24. Do you think it would be worth it to get the new video card? Let me know, Thanks. Richard [Message Edited] [Message Edited] [Message Edited]

I have a screensaver which only works when I put it on 16 bit, but I like it on 24 bit because the pictures look better. The place where I got it from says it only will work on 16 or 32 bit but I don't have 32 bit setting. What I'd like to know is there any way to get a 32 bit setting on my computer without changing a bunch of stuff? I don't know anything about this stuff so if this is a dumb question I'm sorry. Thanks, Richard

Just want to know how to go about animating something in desktop x. I've seen where it says animation in properties, but don't really know how to go about it.Only have animation shop that comes with paint shop, if I can't do it with that, then I guess it won't happen. Thanks, Richard

Travis-- When I switched the display settings from high color to true color everything smoothed out. Thanks. I think one is 24 bit and the other is 32 bit.

My icon's displayed with icon packager aren't really smooth around the edges, mainly the round ones. There not real smooth like the pictures show them. I was just wondering if that's the way it is or if there is something I can do about it?

I just want to know how to go about getting water in just a lake, like crater lake, not all around it, only in it. Can somebody please point me in the right direction. Richard

WreclessEric--Thanks for the tutorial sites, I'm not a total idiot "almost " but not quite, I did a search for tutorials but thought maybe someone new of some that wouldn't necessarily turn up in a search. My fault I should have been more specific about what I was asking. Thanks again, Richard
