The Drath leader suddenly popped up begging me to do something because the Thalan were too powerful. I gave him a whole fleet of 4 large ships and I know they would have taken out about 15 Thalan fleet. The ships turned brown and they sat there. After a few turns the Thalan surrounded us and they were at war with the Drath. Nothing happened. The ships are still there. Another thing that happened is I lost the party vote. Not sure when party vote pops up, but if you lose, you los

Just came back to this game after a couple of years not playing. I have a class 22 planet and I thought I'd turn it into a big money maker by making it my economic capital and filling it with banks. Economic buildings. I've built about 7 of them so far and I looked and am not making much money at all. Maybe each bank adds 15% but 15% of what? From the look of my income, 34 bc, the base income of this planet must be tiny. I'm still doing pretty good because I have so many colonies of Torians (

I'm back again. I'm Terran. I gave the Altarians about 20,000 credits and a bunch of technologies 20 turns ago because they begged me to save them from the Drengin. When I checked on them recently they still had about 20,000 credits. Do the AI actually use gifts or do I have to give them warships to get them to use gifts as intended?

Are you saying that planets do not like empty tiles? Build six fertility clinics on one planet so that it becomes "economically stable"? Later upgrade those clinics with something else and lose no money because the price of the clinic is taken off the upgrade. Tell me this. Why is there no key to press to instantly find your survey ships like s. Press the s key and cycle through your survey ships. Press the b key to cycle through your battleships. Why doesn't

I moved "starbase repair" up in the starbase que thinking that it would repair my ships but now I'm thinking starbase repair is just for repairing starbases. Does it repair ships or just the starbase? I've flown some constructors into the starbases under these conditions and they disappear. No module appeared down below that I could see and there was no damage to the starbase so I think it just absorbed these constructors without giving me anything. That does not make me happy

I know I read about this on the internet previously. Some guy had said that he had 3 or 4 fertility clinics on one of his planets so he could have the planet pump out troop transports every turn without ever depleting his population. I decided to use that tactic to fill up some planets that I'd recently taken over. Population growth with 5 fertility clinics on one planet was not impressive. I was not at 100% approval, more like 65%, but my population grew quite pathetically

I gave it try. Here's what I found. The troop transport wasn't allowed to colonize the uncolonized planet. I designed another ship, this one with the same frame but with colony modules. Then I upgraded the troop transport into a colony ship while it was way out in space. It took three weeks to upgrade but when it was done I had a fully loaded colony ship that could colonize the planet. I didn't lose any of the people on board and I didn't have to g

When you colonize your first planet your settlers get off the ship and colonize the planet. Then the ship disappears. Later, if you bring more settlers with another colony ship, the settlers can get off and the colony ship can go anywhere it wants so long as you leave 1 (1,000,000) on board to pilot, I guess. If you leave no one on board the ship can't leave orbit. If you build a colony ship with 4 colony pods you can move a billion people per trip. Not sure what happens if you use that t

Fleets cost a lot of money and they cost a lot to maintain. My main opponent has a lot of fleets, each one with a lot of ships. No doubt he is spending a lot and he does have the best economy so far. Usually I attack the fleets and then the planets but i was wondering if there was another way. What if I attack his planets with transports using the invasion that causes the most damage to infrastructure and population? I'll just kill the defenders and leave his fleets alone if I can and the

I've tried the end of my game as Drengin several times now and I think I need to focus on making money in the beginning. That's what has been holding me back. I have lots of buildings I've researched but I can't afford them and so I don't make money and can't build enough fleets. Let me know if I've got it all wrong. I also regret not having a production planet. Seems I've wasted my production bonuses. I just never played that way with the terrans and altarians

I needed money so I thought I'd sell a planet and some corvette minions to raise cash. I got a fairly decent deal one time. I think it was my Arcean teamate who gave me about 3500 bc and 15000 influence points for Kona and 15 corvettes. The corvettes alone would cost 27000 so the deal made sense to me and the ships were less than a turn from the planet I gave him. It happened to have 5 billion people too. Things went wrong awhile later and I reloaded and I couldn't get a

You mean it doesn't actually take ten percent of my earnings or net worth every turn and give it to the treaty holder? That's great. Its not intuitive, not at all what I expected but it should certainly help me out in future negotiations since a research and economy treaty is pretty valuable. Good tips. I never thought of that stuff with the spies and jacking up research and taxes. I just "won" that thing with the Dreadlords. The Torian dude got on board but I played a

I'm always trying to get a research and economic treaty from other civs. The economic treaty in particular is often the turning point from struggling to winning. When, if ever, do you offer an economic or research treaty in the hopes of getting something? I've never done it as I can't imagine I'll ever recover from signing up for forever to make payments to some other civ. Next subject µ I tried the Dread Lords Campaign again. Finally figured someth

I'm late in a game and quite behind militarily. I think I'm rated about 64. I assume the Drath are 100 or more. So I looked at their fleets and saw they didn't have much missile protection. I designed some ships with a lot of missile firepower and 50 missile and 50 beam defense as well as having more than one ship with a 30% defense bonus for the entire fleet. I ended up with more than 1000 attack for the fleet, much of it in missile. What I find is that I&#

Several of my trade routes became unsafe so I went to the trade screen. I could see that a few routes were "open". Clicking on them highlights the route but it doesn't take you to the freighter. I know you can find freighters with no destination by tediously looking through the entire ship list on the ships button. Isn't there an easy way to find an idle freighter? Also, I designed a freighter with a faster engine. Seems like it should do a lot more trading than the slow freig

I didn't change any settings and instead loaded an autosave six minutes younger than the save I had been loading. No problems for the next four hours.... so far. With the other save the minidump popped up within five minutes.

The game worked fine for 90 hours of single player Trinity but then I got a minidump on a large map, late in the game. Every time I load that save I get another minidump after a few minutes and of course the game has to be shut down. I searched and saw that people were having problems as recently as 2012 and I know most have moved on to Rebellion. I've just started playing Sins. I want to play Trinity. Is there some definitive solution to this problem after all these years? <
