Quoting theemaster, reply 15 My play style is pretty simple.. I'm a save and loader.. not a lot of people necessarily have patience for that.. but in that way.. I always/usually get the best outcome in any battle.. and I know many/some people play like me in civilization/king's bounty etc.
you complain that the game is too easy when you reload every lost battle? dude that has to be one of the dumbest complaints

1- The current research tree would be broken down into all of it's parts. Instead of getting weaponsmithing you would get one weapon at a time. For some things it would make sense to do it the old way, like for shard shrines. Having access to air shards but not earth shards would be just awful. The same for suits of armor. But for most things breaking it down into pieces should work better with the other features. Agree. This increases the possibilitie
What I don't understand why people bother to play games they find too easy, and then post on a message board and complain about it. How insecure must someone be to feel the need to brag how good they are. There are a million different games out there. Just put LH down and move on.
I don't agree. A player should be allowed to ask the developers for more challenge. Challenge is what makes a game fun.<b

What you could do is open ElementalDefs.xml, find "CombatRatingToExpMultiplier" and reduce the number. That would give you less exp for killing things :p Or maybe you'd rather nerf the Maul ability? It can be done in the file CareSpells.xml, by increasing the accuracy reduction number from 15 in the formula :) Modifying the game feels like cheating, but it's much better to modify the game for yourself than to sit there with a game that you are not satisfied with.

The replies here makes me think that most of us are just using the various classes the wrong way... There's also another thread somewhere, where people have been discussing which speccs are viable and not, and in which part of the game. Most players seem to think mages are good overall, but there are very different opinions of the other classes. Those who are in favor of a class will certainly be so because they have good experience with it, and vice versa. I think th

Nah, my computer is up and running 24\7, because I tend to run a lot of applications day and night. It could be the biggest contributor to my electric bill, but nevertheless my bill is actually pretty low :) My CPU usually isn't very hot either, but the thermometer shows that it's about time to vacuum the computer fans again ;)

In my experience, the best mid-game champ would be a warrior-mage hybrid with an axe, dmg gear and melee-range fire spells. This would give you pretty descent aoe damage, while the rest of your army can finish off anything that isn't one-shot. I'm not sure if you're saying that any champ would be better off as a mage, or if you're saying that all champs are better off with some magic. I would agree to the last statement.

Here's what I modified in threat levels:
0:Weak:0,255,0 100:Weak:75,255,0 200:Weak:150,255,0 400:Average:255,255,0 800:Medium:255,225,0 1200:Strong:255,150,0 1800:Deadly:255,75,0 2700:Epic:255,0,0
Only threat level 0, 800, 1200, 1800 and 2700 display the correct strings in-game. The game obviously tries to get the strings from a lookup-table, and it could be the elemental.str file you mentioned: [code="xml

In the file ElementalDefs I have modified the settings for threat levels and the related names and colors. I also added and modified some of the options for game settings, when you create a new game. In several of these cases, the string "String Not Found" displays in-game instead of the string I entered. Does anyone have any solution for this? Where is the related "string table tag"?

The difficulty you describe just doesn't match my experiences... I've been using melee champs in every game, and although I sometimes fail at keeping them alive through early--mid-game, I usually don't have much trouble. I wonder if this could be due to monster difficulty settings, or some other settings. I usually play with lots of monsters, but not very hard monsters. If you play with less and\or harder monsters, then this could explain our different experiences - it m

@Joeball: Haste is not very powerful in early-game because you are likely to not have any air shards. The bonus isn't very big without any shards, and other factors can easily make a much bigger difference in my experience. Slow is somewhat the same - in early-game it doesn't make a big difference because the reduction is low, everybody is already slow, and other factors can easily make a much bigger difference in my experience.

My experience: Traits: Fire Mages are great through the whole game , as long as you make sure to have plenty of mana. Just make sure your army is not all fire, as fire resistance is not uncommon in mid- and late-game. Air Mages are weak in early-game , but can be great in mid- and late-game . The damage of their spells is actually very random(despite the ensuring tooltips), but they have several spells that will be

+1 to popular demand-fix list. I would also like to be able to edit existing races. I recently created several custom races, and now and then I forgot to edit the shield, colors, race name or something. Well, that's just too bad for me, as there's no easy way to fix...

I really hate how caravans are in my way every now and then. I also agree with the low selling value of items. There's just no point at all in selling items to shops, not until your inventory gets so large you can barely find what you're looking for.

Same thing for me. It starts out nicely, gradually getting slower, and by end-game I ended up alt-tabbing between the game and other stuff, because every turn was taking so long(!). Reloading a save game never helped, and it also takes ages to load save games.

I did the same mistake with auto-battling Banshees once - I learned very quickly from that ;p I both like and dislike things like this, mostly I like it. - The good thing is that it forces you to use your head a bit - both when choosing to auto-battle, and when choosing how to gear your units. - The bad thing is that even when you are overpowered you "must" still do things manually, just to make sure you don't get extra casualties. On the other hand, such a ri
My question is why would you release the answers to the riddles in the game? I used Steal Spirit again, on 2 additional champions, and the last one actually gave me a skill to pick. So yea, now I know. It would still be nice to have a message about it when you didn't get anything for using the spell, tho :) Also, I agree with Alstein: As the game progresses, I get champions now and then which I don't see any good use for . At a certain point it's better to fill the army slots with geared units than with

I just used Steal Spirit for the first time, and I didn't notice anything happening at all - except for the target champion dying. I started looking through my traits, and didn't notice anything new - but I also don't remember 100% exactly which traits and level my caster already had. The way it is now, they only way to know what we got is to remember which traits and levels our caster had, and then look through the traits again after using the spell, looking for some ki
