I suppose. I must admit that I haven't many games or FE or LH under my belt so maybe I haven't gotten far enough along yet in a game yet (or played on "insane/insane"). So far my experience has been that: I don't need ANY stationed troop in my cities because no one ever gets the chance to attack them. I agree with this. There should be some mechanic that accounts for the progress your empire/town has made of time such as: Cities over a certain size institute a standing city watch which is equipped with your best normal weapon and the 2nd best armor tech you've got, instead of irregulars wielding clubs. I had this issue with my game last night. To work around it, I simply saved the game where I was, exited to the main menu and reloaded. The game started operating normally for a turn or few, then would stop responding again. I went through this cycle about 5 to 10 times, then it stopped happening and I continued to play normally. Should have saved a save game to send in. One of the last times it happened, I noticed that the move I had tried to make, seemed to o

....duh. N00b alert!! Of course. I had been periodically disbanding mercenary hunters. Each hunter "unit" consists of three troops. I didn't connect the notification to the previous action taken and misunderstood "3 troops" to be three whole units. : / Thank you.
Playing vanilla 1.3 I'm at war with Yithril, and an occasionally receiving notifications that "3 troops have deserted". My economy is positive (a few hundred $) and I am otherwise unable determine which troops have deserted, where they were located or what is causing the desertion.
