I don't see this posted here yet, but if you are a lover of Stardock games and are primarily using Linux, you can now play some of the Stardock games on Linux with the latest beta of Steam. Offworld Trading Company and Galactic Civilization II and III run and play. It is still in beta, but I suggest giving it a try. Compatible Games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet

I would like to backup my settings to Dropbox or SkyDrive automatically instead of digging down into the folders and finding my custom settings. Could the option to automatically backup settings for FX, Deskscapes, etc, to the cloud be implemented soon?

One of the reasons I finally bought Fences ( other than I love Stardock and the software they produce!!), is because of the auto organizing ability of fences. I have run into an issue though, I have two fences, one is for games and the other for programs. I would like to create an auto rule where all new items are sucked to one or the other. The problem is when I create this rule, and auto apply it, it pulls all of my shortcuts from both fences and jumbles them up. I w

Glad you chimed in with your bluntness Brad. I understand now lol, your one of the few that dont give a damn about money. You just want a great product because you know that will make you a hell of a lot more money and make you feel good at the same time. Oh btw 100k a year and i would have moved out to michigan to approve promotions and weekend impulse buys =)

So my question is, stardock and gamestop becoming partners, or did you sell outright to them? Do they own all of the rights to impulse? I ask because i think that a partnership would have been a lot more logical, it would guarantee that impulse would still continue to see the same love and care that stardock put into. And if they did not do this you could take it back and sell it to someone who would...

The game hangs when i have both of my monitors on and i try and load the game. As in the fact that i have to ctrl + alt + del and log myself off of my account. It looks like the game is trying to change the screen size of both of my monitors and in doing so hanging itself.

I would recommend Windows 7 Home professional if your computer is going to be sitting at your house and you will be just gaming. If you are going to be using more than 3.5 GB of memory then get the 64-bit version of Windows (32 bit OS are physically limited to 3.5gb of memory use). As for hardware I would recommend Newegg.com if you are going to build your own computer, Look for a nice board ( I prefer Gigabyte or ASUS) with a good rating and one that will not limit you on what you wan

The only reason I upgrade my computer now is because i like having faster stuff not because i need it. I was for a while there completely upgrading my computer every 2 years. But now I've had the same build since 2008 and all i've really done is replace the parts that werent adequate to my liking (Video card), or me experimenting with things (RAID 0 x 4). I want to upgrade this year to DDR3 and Hexacore processing with an SSD drive but its hard for me to find a good reason to do it.

The inclusion of steamworks in recent games is the reason why i will not buy them. I love the civilization series and really would like to buy Civ 5 but i wont 50 dollars for it and I don't like HAVING to use a service to play a game. I also want Fallout Vegas but they did the same thing..... I know that i personally will not be able to stop them from taking over the market, but I know that i will not help them. And heck if they DID start charging for there service i would simply stop

Dude, its sounds like you got really pissed at your gaming side of the company. I'm glad you went through and cleaned house. I have to be honest and pirated your first version of Elemental, because i was scared to pay for it (dont like to pay 50 dollars for any game). I played it for an hour and did not play it again. But I kept up with the updates you posted and noticed all of the improvements and decided to pay for it in January with your 20% discount for the survey. I have to

You will probably see an ok increase in frame rates. But higher resolutions are really based off of the graphics card. And with you having an 8600 in it you will be able to play at a higher resolution but you will have to turn down some of the graphics. But FYI if you upgrade to 4gb you will see an overall improvement of you windows OS.

[quote who="Raven X" reply="2" id="2419094"] Quoting Nosrick, reply 1 I've got a GTX 260, and as far as I know, it only gets as high as 10, but I'm using XP, so it's not a big deal. I've got the GTX 280 1Gig card. It should handle DX11 when it comes out. I think yours will too. I could be wrong about that but I'm pretty sure both our cards will. Why is this so amazing? I honestly do not know how i got along without it [e digicons]:D[/e] . It is really easy to use and extremely convient. When i start having icons pile up on my screen, i simply drag and drop them in a convient category, I love my Fences! [e digicons]:D[/e] .

I love spore it is a great game. I want to buy it but my biggest thing is, I DO NOT want to support there DRM ideas. I love the way Stardock does it, ive actually lost hard copies of there games. But since i had the serial number linked to my name in my email, i was able to download the game back on to my computer and play it. No needing cd's, no third party DRM crap, its kind of hard now to support the companies that try so hard to protect there games from the legitamit buyers. The fu
