I might be wrong, but I don't understand the idea LE is making things easier/dumber if you're going simply by the things we've learned so far, because it seems to be adding more, not taking away. Or perhaps you're in the beta?

Another question: is LE a bit like Gods & Kings for Civ V where the content is simply layered on top of the existing game?
Now that's an interesting idea.. co-op FE. :)

We literally don't have the bodies here. We're actively recruiting more network developers. If you know anyone interested in getting into game development and knows how to write networking code tell them to send us their resume.
I
Warlock Master of Arcane is quite new very similar. It doesn't have tactical combat but the combat on the strategy map is very deep. Armageddon DLC is exceptionally well done (but very difficult) and I'd recommend it along with the main game. If you don't mind older stuff Age of Wonder series, HOMM 3 & 5 (don't get the new one 6, it is HORRIBLE,) and of course, Master of Magic, the grandfather that started
I'm relatively new to turn-based strategy games, having played only Civilization V and Total War Shogun 2. At the risk of sounding like a complete hipster, these games bore me, though Total War to a lesser extent. My problem with Civ is its claim how it's based on real history yet the map is randomly generated and the AI for the leaders don't necessarily fall in line with what any of them might do in a similar situation. Perhaps I have no room to be so choosy as a newbie to the ge
Ah, see I was curious and confused about this.. so Jon Shafer is still playing an active role in Fallen Enchantress?
I have my own bias against Steam because there isn't much done to promote indie titles that aren't already hugely popular such as Super Meat Boy, Braid, or Bastion. Greenlight is a terrible system because things become a popularity contest. Not to mention the ignorant people who've forced this to happen simply because they won't buy a game unless it's on Steam. If you want a game bad enough (Minecraft, Starcraft 2, Guild Wars 2, any number of great indie games that aren
My understanding is LH isn't optional. It's simply a required expansion pack somewhat like Binding of Isaac's Wrath of the Lamb where its new content was integrated into the experience. So LH is still an update to FE, particularly when you consider how it's free to War of Magic users. I might be wrong, though.
I'm pretty new to 4X, so I probably don't truly have any business playing on higher difficulties, but it's still nice to hear that. What about each individual leader? Do all of them have different behaviors? Is this basically like Civ 5 but better? I tried playing Civ 5 in the past, but something about it rubbed me the wrong way. I suppose because it's all about conquering the Earth and yet maps are randomly generated (I know there are mods for that, but eh)
Also, could anyone comment on the AI of the game? Does it provide a challenge without feeling like they're cheating? Do they act ignorantly? I've still not played GalCiv 2, but I hear its AI is outstanding. Considering Stardock publishes both games, I'd like to hope Fallen Enchantress is held to a high standard when it comes to AI.
So... if I buy Fallen Enchantress right now on Steam, I won't get Legendary Heroes when that rolls out in April? Instead, it will cost $20? Hell, that's basically the same price as the current game.. think I'll just wait until April and see what I'll do. But this game does look nice. Odd how Jon Shafer's At the Gates piqued my interest in this. That game looks wonderful and I read how he helped design Fallen Enchantress and I got intrigued. Is he helping with LH in
Is Fallen Enchantress essentially the same game as War of Magic, but rebuilt into a better game? Or is it a sequel? Is LH a free expansion no matter when I buy it?
