Hi, I'm trying to update GalCiv Multimedia from 1.0.015 to 1.0.016 (through SDCentral) The update process seems to enter an infinte loop when reaching 47% while extracting YERPRIZE.MP3 The update animation is still running, and the application is still responding - but the update won't complete :( (By the way, I disabled my Anti-Virus before running SDCentral) I restarted my comp and tried again - same problem. Please help

Nidaros, Do you have a default Color Profile ? (Display Properties->Settings->Advanced->Color Management) If not - click the "Add" button and try the ones that come with Windows. You may need to restart before it takes effect, I'm not sure. If the supplied ones don't help, try looking for a profile from LG for your monitor (I think it should come with the driver package)

Nidaros, Like Wydom@ker above suggested - the most probable solution is to install the correct driver to your monitor. My CTX monitor had terrible contrast and colors until I installed the correct driver from the manufacturer site instead of using the generic Windows driver. So try getting the latest driver for your model from the manufacturer website. By the way - what monitor do you have (make / model) ?

The game does NOT crash if the files are not there. I deleted the mini_colony.bik and ran the game, it works fine, no crash when the movie should play. Since midnight_louie reports he CAN see these animations on his WinXP machine and others with 98/ME machines can't see them - I guess it's a bug and needs to be looked into. If it's not a bug then I'll shut-up about it :)

I have these files and they are indeed in the movies folder (their new place according to Brad) Do you guys with XP machines see the animations from within the game? The FileMon log clearly shows that GalCiv READS the .bik file, it's just not being displayed. My point is - if you intentionaly changed the code to not display the animation in the beta but it will be changed back for the final version, then fine. But if this is not intentional then it is probably som

This happens on 2 different machines - both with Win98: The following animations: "mini_colony.bik", "mini_starbase.bik" and "mini_freighter.bik" Do NOT show up when the event happens (first colonization, first starbase, first trade route) The event screen appears with the text and music but the video window is blank. Looking at the FileMon log I see that GalCiv.exe reads the .bik file - it is just not displayed. This bug was already present in Beta 4Z, but N

There were several people (including myself) who had problems with animations in 4Z on Win98/ME machines : * opening screen animation (menu doors) very slow and choppy (I have an AMD 1800/512Mb/GeForce3 Ti200/SB Live 5.1) * Some of the animations don't appear - first colonization, star base, trade route animations. (appeared fine in 4D) * Sound effects (click sound, shooting, explosions) are too high pitched as if played at double speed. Like I said, I've seen

Brad, Can you please elaborate on how the AI learns from submitted metaverse games (or is this feature not going to be implemented) ? How are you going to release "AI updates"? will it be part of new builds or as separate files? Thanks!

I would like to download the beta at work (fast connection) and then take the files home and install it on my home computer. Is this possible? Also- do I need to connect to a stardock server every time I want to play or just for downloading updates? Thanks in advance!
