Now that I think of it, it should be easy for math people to figure out the number of cities at which, given a tax rate, it no longer makes sense to capture or settle another city. Hmm. Perhaps also given that the unrest buildings have been built, for a given level of technology... Mmmm maybe need a spreadsheet. :-) i guess my point is that I don't like a mechanism that dis-incents me from capturing or settling cities. Given a new mechanism that does this, I would like a new way t

Unrest is also based on number of cities. Additional 2% per city, and in addition to the unrest from taxes, quickly becomes crushing.
I disagree with the statement " This forces you to change tactics/army and that is not a bad thing". Tactics is maneuver, quick decision, weapon versus defense. Not the lack of options / choices. I agree with the poster that the ability to array forces before contract is very important and is a key piece of tactics that has actually been removed with the "faster into fights" design of LH.
I also love the huge maps! All the games I've played in LH so far have been on huge maps. Does it seem like there is more "dead" space (non settle-able) proportionally though? Maybe I've just been unlucky on the random map generator. I love the "upgrade group size" as well. Great option. Also love Arcane Monolith. It's one of my favorite spells/racial traits to get.
I want to start by saying I absolutely love Fallen Enchantress (and Legendary Heroes). It feels like Legendary Heroes is really encouraging "small." I know we got a "huge" map, but some of the mechanics seem to encourage us to stay small. Map: On the huge map, it seems like habitable places are farther apart, to encourage fewer cities? If this is a correct observation, then I would like to comment that I like large empires, and I thought a larger map would enable that.
Last night I invaded one of Gilden's cities. He had six or seven catapults and a lot of militia. It looks like that many units may have crowded Lord Markin off of the map. I didn't notice it initially until I had killed all the units on the normal map. They were still able to fight with ranged attacks (shoot arrows) and I was able to hit them but only with spells. ps I don't much care for the space-constrained battlefields in general, and the city invasion ones in
Hard. Ready to move up after this game.
I'm standing here with my money in hand trying my best to figure out how to throw it at you! Seriously, I tried pre-ordering Legendary Heroes in Steam, and looked for it on the Stardock site. How does one pre-order? I'll give you money as soon as you let me! :-) Thank you for such a fun game (fallen enchantress). It is my favorite since GalCiv.
Best thread title ever. Anyways, shadows or not, what I would love to see are improvements in the weapons / armor upgrade screen. Or, in fact, for there to even be a screen instead of a button that offers no information or options. i would like the city upgrade screen to not block the view of the city I am upgrading. If I have a path selected at the end of a turn I want my units to follow that path when I hit the turn
For governors: Anything that a city produces increased by a percentage as the skill improves. Food, production, research, growth, construction time, unrest, militia/defenders (increase hp/armor/damage), increase effect of city specialization, add essence slots in city where stationed, decrease likelihood of monsters attacking, equivalents to outpost upgrades, decrease in shopping costs, increase in xp gained of other units in city, increase in viewing range of that city, or cities in general,
Perhaps it is just me but I *like* it when I've paid for nature's cloak and choosing fire resistance and a dragon breathes fire at me. I get to see the benefits of what I've paid for. Smart dragons don't always act smart, nor do smart people, nor smart spiders.
I like the idea of an extra maintenance cost. That seems like an easy, tweakable way to balance with straightforward impact on how to structure your kingdom and strategy.
I like to watch myself for the urge to reload. It's usually an indication that I did something that I knew I shouldn't (tried to take the easy way out) and got caught like I knew I would. Heh. My rule is that I only allow myself to reload over a specific case of being dumb once. I think that razing should be the same, human player or computer. That question aside entirely, of course there should be consequences for leaving the rear unattended. If you can't be strong everyw
This actually happened to me too when I moved an army out of a city once. It broke my army up so that it could put 33 militia in my groups. Has not happened again since I re-installed from scratch.
FE is phenomenal! I really love this game. So much fun. I haven't played and enjoyed a game as much in a long time. Really geat job!
Thanks! Also, a full re-install solved all the problems.
First of all, I really love this game. Really great work! Lots of bugs in the new release. Bell towers not being available to be built in some cities, city militia accompanying departing armies, double-click on "your city has grown" to level two makes the entire dialog go away, cities finishing improvements and not notifying, etc. Version 1.29 was much, much more solid for me. Anyways, here's a 100% replicable crash from my latest game. Every time Pariden a
