thanks illauna, i'll check that program out. right now i have it in balanced performance mode, but i believe ih ave cooling custom set to max. i'm also running it with my charger.
teambo100
also, i tried turning all the settings down, but it really didn't make much of a difference. I contacted stardock support so hopefully they will help me out, i really believe it's a problem with the game not using my dedicated graphics and being stuck on integrated instead.
why are you so invested in this anti laptop witchhunt? maybe laptops sucked for gaming in 2005, but i can play pretty much any game on my laptop without an issue. Most people with a dedicated card in their laptop can. Desktops are better, if you like sitting in your basement all day. I have a laptop because i'm busier than that, but still want to be able to play video games every once i na while.
if i were to boot up battlefield 3 on my laptop right now i guarantee it would use more processor than fallen enchantress.
maybe it's because in a first person shooter you have to process the actions of each unit individually, where in a strategy game it has to process the behavior of an AI controlling all those units
thanks Illauna, it's windows 8 64 bit btw. I'll definitely try out the fullscreen thing.
actually i'm pretty sure a couple of people were trying to say that my hardware wasn't adequate. Also i know FE is processor intensive, but my processor is at like 38% when i play it, so i dont really think it's that either
thank you, finally 2 people on this forum that aren't off the fucking deep end. i understand that alot of 4x strategy games tax your processor, but i can literally run every single other 4x game on the market. Fallen enchantress is no exception to this, and i'd even venture as far to say that this game is alot less taxing based on the system requirements: Fallen Enchantress* and Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes** require at minimum a PC running Windows XP
pretty sure you're reading a little too far into this. i actually jumped ship from AMD. The GT740m first of all has more memory than the 5770hd, and as performance isn't really that far behind. It's also not the brand new flashy thing, its based on a chip that's already been around for a while now. It's not my fault that this game won't run properly for buying a new laptop, it's pretty clear that something is wrong with the software thats making this game not work
i mean i would understand that but it's not an integrated video card, it's a dedicated nvidia gt 740m. If this game doesnt work on any laptops, then it's literally the only game that doesnt work that way. I understand how system requirements work.
it looks like it is, i still don't understand why i'm getting such a low framerate, this card should be more than enough to run the game
it's really not any of the basic stuff like update drivers, end other tasks, get more ram, etc. i'm pretty sure this is something to do with the software or my switchable graphics and i was wondering if anyone else had this problem before/knew how to fix it
does anyone have any ideas? i really either want to play this game or get my money back. kinda ridiculous.
Yeah i believe so, also i doubt it's my processor. An i5 should be more than enough to run this game at lowest settings, but even when i turn them down its still slow.
For some reason i get a really bad framerate in this game no matter what i do. It's mostly just when i'm in normal map mode, cloth map and tacticle battles work just fine, but otherwise its terrible like 20 fps. here are my specs: core i5 3320m 8gb dd3 1600 intel hd 4000/gt740m 1 tb hard drive I'm running this game at 1080p but my hardware should still be enough to run it well right? even when i lower re
