Like the other posters wrote, you always need Civ techs. Unless you do not develop cities at all. That's probably not wise, though. You need Conclaves to produce mana and research. Military techs, on the other hand, aren't really needed. You don't need to build any troops. It's a viable option, but not needed as Resoln. Try to research the second shard harvesting Tech quickly, as the Air and Earth demons are very useful, much more so than their young cousins. O

I usually play with dense monsters, plenty magic, quests and random events. The last two also because I bought the DLC and would like to see the new stuff. The other settings are random.
Great spells. One note: a spell called 'Corruption' already exists.
- Cross-class spells would be cool, but to be honest, the whole spell system is already a mess: you can get them from spell books, mage traits, sovereign traits, faction traits, magic techs, acquiring heroes with unique spells and quests. That's a lot of sources. I agree with the OP that many spells are rather 'meh'. Imo, the spells from the books/schools should be stronger than others, as it takes more resources to learn them. At the moment, some of the most useful spells (arguab
Research trading works as CWG describes. If you have more than 1 opponent, it's basically always wise to trade tech as much as you can: You and opponent A increase your knowledge, the others do not -> your overall position improves. Usually you will have to trade tech at a 3/4 loss, but it is still worth it. You can also trade tech for any of the other tradable goods (gildar, iron, etc) Apart from trading 'tech' on a case by case base, you can also sign tech treaties wi
Quoting sjaminei, reply 15 Quoting Fallenchar, reply 13 Resoln isn't the best per se, I just happen to like magic. Pariden is equally magicky, but winning is too easy with them being a Kingdom. What exactly makes winning easier as kingdom? I am curious, because I am of the opposite belief (Sacrifice and Blood Rage giving Empire the edge) I'm not saying
Excellent list. I hope the devs start working on this asap!
Actually, if you do not use the pioneer exploit, there's always a city that can lose the 30 pop without slowing progress. This whole thread proves we are all guilty of using the exploit [e digicons]>_>[/e]

Go for the air elemental summon, it's very powerful. Combine it with the Crow demons from air shards and you've got a powerful army. Necromancy I & II is also pretty useful. Once you got the air elemental and Nec II, get Water III for Mantle of Oceans.
'Best game ever' great topic title to start a heated argument or a thread full of nostalgia :) Anyway, I love this game and have played hundreds of hours. Lately, I feel like I am done, though, because I have finished the game with my favorite faction (Resoln) and every time I start the game with a 'lesser' faction, it's just not as much fun and I quit after a while. I guess I am ready for a new Elemental game [e digicons][/e]
My recent game is suffering from some minor glitches and two annoying bugs: 1: Whenever I load a savegame, my Sovereign is down to 21 current health, even though she had full health (79 atm). I don't know what causes this, all I know is 21 is her current level. 2: My faction has the 'master scout' trait, allowing my armies to spend only 1 movement on difficult terrain. However, when I attack an army on marsh, river or forest, I sometimes (not always) still lose sev
Interesting. I tend to take pretty long turns and often leave LH on in the background. Even for hours sometimes...
Ah, is that how it works...the AI used this exploit against me this morning. No fun.
You could still be incredibly unlucky. Actually, there aren't that many 'weak' lairs. Most wandering mobs are smaller than the lair mobs, so you'll see more weak groups roaming the map. Some medium monsters are still fairly easy, like the bear cub and most groups consisting of multiple weak units. Whatever you do, stay away from the Butchermen...
BTW, you can steal special magical abilities, like the lich ability Austin mentions.
Doesn't the ability state you can steal a magic ability? I am not sure, but even if it doesn't, it is probably working as intended.
Some quest monsters never got their xp gain updated, sadly enough...
What Sjaminei said. I suggest you split your mod in a "extra cool stuff" part and a " balance change" part. That way people have more choice and you are the proud creator of two mods :)
If you have lvl 5 cities as Empire, it is time to wrap up the game. You can probably win in many different ways, Sacrifice being one of them.
No, it doesn't. You can reduce population to 1 without penalties, even if the city is lvl 2+
The Soulbound armor looks great. Really powerful though. Epic quest rewards? The Battlecry ability seems too powerful for a hero. I don't understand the changes to the Mage path. Evoker is too weak, while you made summoning too powerful.
You do know you can click on that message and scroll through all enemies?
Okay... We all would like free stuff, but the world doesn't work this way.
Gekko does have a point. Buyers of FE paid $60 for two games, while buyers of Elemental paid $40 for three games. It's a fact of life that you sometimes buy a product too early (or too late in this case) and miss out on some special deal. You just have to take your losses in that situation. I know I did. But I can understand people
Personally, I don't understand what's wrong with a cheating AI in a single-player game. This requires me to be smarter than the AI, giving me a sense of accomplishment if I can still beat it. It's like climbing a mountain: the mountain and I don't have to be one and the same. It only becomes a problem if the AI is so stupid, it consistently breaks immersion. Or if it requires so much help (cheats) it is not really playing the same game as I am.
