This may be minor, but I think every game I've gotten Bacco and Ascian as quests. While I enjoy them, it gets old doing them in every game. Maybe the "Bacco" champion could at least be a randomized available champion from the champion table? Ascian is also getting a bit old because the quest is essentially the same. If the player gets to end up with Ascian every game, it defeats the purpose a bit. The Alchemy quest also suffers from this--you end up threa

Yep, I've had this as well with the hero Bannon Heighsley, who has the command ability. He often gets an infinite number of turns to clean up the battlefield after using Command.

I've noticed a couple of things in a recent game using version .51 that I have not seen mentioned yet. First, Ascian. You can equip Ascian with helmets and his graphic looks completely messed up. Also, I suggest that you bump up his movement to at least 3. He's a "panther" or something like it, so he should be able to move faster than 2. Also, he can't ride mounts, so he should have a speed bump to help him move with the rest of your army.

That is to say if you upgrade your outposts to be wardens, then every outpost connected to that city will get the wardens upgrade as well as the city itself. Similar to all other effects and would be built once at the city and upgrade all outposts as such, even new ou

I use them from time to time, especially when I can use them as choke-points to give all my units defending the area bonuses. I have also used the bonuses to help my army defeat particularly difficult armies, such as dragons. With large 5 unit armies, the bonuses are fairly substantial. My problem with them is that they simply don't make a lot of sense. Why does the area around your outpost only get the bonuses? Shouldn't the area around your cities get

If you click the first screenshot on the LH page you can see the mage progression tree with the ability to summon skeletons in combat and such. I talk about dragons, and you mention skeletons?!? Not even in the same ballpark...
Err.

I'm with SerPounce. I played both original AoW games--in fact I have them on a shelf here still--and I found them to be a bit flat. Probably because they lacked the empire building of MoM. The AI also cheated like crazy. In AoW2 I remember the developer admitted that the AI knew exactly where all your creatures were, regardless of whether they had an ability to hide in forests and whatnot. Don't remember all the terminology, but I remember being very disa

I've noticed the same thing about the AI as far as the spells being cast on my troops in their territory. It would certainly raise the stakes if the AI could utilize those spells. Similarly, I think it would be great if the AI could upgrade outposts strategically. I often upgrade outposts because the offensive and defensive bonuses really help troop stacks in the area if it's of strategic significance. However, as I noted in another post, it might be ea

So, I've played quite a bit with the new 1.30 patch and I've noticed the AI is still repeatedly failing to pick up loot at cleared locations. In the last 2 games I played I had a good time criss-crossing the map and grabbing all this loot, but it is a bit disheartening to see the AI ignore them. Also, I know this has been a long-standing issue, but any chance the AI will ever be able to upgrade outposts? I honestly find the boosts one can get at outposts placed at
Quoting sweatyboatman, reply 42 Maybe after a couple years of slaving away making FE they decided to take a little break. They aren't taking a break. They have all moved on, to the expansion or GalCiv 3 (*crosses fingers*). It honestly looks like there's only like 2 people working on bugfixes and the AI for FE right now. But don't worry, they are backporting fixes they accidentally make while working on the expansion. <br

You can't expect Stardock to fix things unless you are a lot more specific then "it's buggy". Many issues are hardware specific so you have to bring up your specific issues if you want them fixed. Just click on my alias, and you may find quite a few. The reaction was the same as to all the other bug reports (3-5 per day or so, just see for

I thought I should follow-up on this. 1.12 seems to have fixed the mage issue, but if you look at your spells after casting Anointed By Fire it still shows in the spellbook that there is a 1 Mana Maintenance, although the Ledger doesn't show it. Based on what Dihir says, this sounds like a bug. It sounds like the "spellbook" needs to be corrected to show that these rituals can only be cast once and have no maintenance.

Well, I've seen many patches to games not be compatible with previously saved games. However, it is unfortunate that Steam forces the update on you. There should be a way to choose when to update.

Well, I think the subject says it all. I am playing as Pariden faction, and I have researched Enchantments but "Mage" is not showing up as a trainable unit. Also, I am casting enchantments on my hero like "Anointed by Fire" (the enchantment that lets my champion cast fireballs), and the enchantment WORKS but does not show up on the Ledger. In other words, I do not appear to be paying any mana for it and I have no way of deactivating it. If I look in my spellbook,
