@ sdrohan - Windows 11 24H2 will likely be released in September so is only a matter of weeks away from official release. I installed mine from the Release Preview which is much lower down the testing ranks than the Beta or more riskier programs, and is usually the final release code, just released a few weeks earlier. Surely, it is better to be addressing this issue now, or at least investigating it, from reports of people using the pre-release build than fixing it when people are us

Same issue here as digimonup in post #1 too with Fences 5.54 and Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Build 26100.1000 via the Windows Insider Release Preview program. I updated to Fences 5.56 Beta and still have the same issue with snapshot thumbnails being white and about 80% of the icons in the left and right side fences appearing on
I am having issues with shutting my PC down when using Start11 v2.01 with one of the Windows 11 presets (sorry I forget which one and I'm not currently at my home PC where Start11 v2 is installed to check). If I click on the Power button on Start11 then the options pop up with the very top Sign out box highlighted (in grey) and it stays over that option even when I move the mouse across the options. In fact, I can see the mouse moving over the options behind the Power menus. Sometimes
Does WindowFX v6.02 actually support Windows 10 fully yet? It doesn't even have its own forum. Anyway, I just wanted to report an issue I only seem to have when I enable WindowFX. I seem to get intermittent flashing of my screen to black when exiting some apps and games but ONLY while WindowFX is enabled. If I turn WindowFX off (but leave the service still running) then I do not see this issue at all. I am using Windows 10 Pro v1511 64-bit and have an i7-4770K, 16 G
Interesting that the release notes for WindowFX v6.01 mention a fix for DWM crashes on Windows 7 because since upgrading from Windows 10 Pro Build 10240 to Windows 10 Pro Build 10586.3 (otherwise known as v1511) I have been experiencing a lot of DWM crashes along with display driver crashes (TDRs "The display driver had stopped responding and successfully recovered") when opening the Steam client. Is that issue really just on Windows 7 or did it actually affect Windows 8/8.1 and 10 too?
Very pleased to see this beta version working with Windows 10, particularly as I have had to uninstall half the Stardock software I owned since upgrading because they no longer work fully, e.g. WindowsBlind, ModernMix, Decor8, etc. Anyway, the software seems to be working fine (...so far) but one thing I would really like to see added is an option for WindowsFX to remember window positions because, for example, opening up the File Explorer window always results in it annoyingly moving
I received an email from Stardock yesterday claiming that ObjectDock was "now Windows 10 compatible". Having just uninstalled it because v2.20 was not working properly in Windows 10 Pro (build 10240) - basically none of the icon buttons worked except for the dock apps themselves (weather, clock, Start, etc) - I decided to download this 'new' version only to find out that it is still the same ancient v2.20 build I uninstalled. The same build dare I say it which crashes Assassin
I have not had any issues with Start10 v1.0 except for one time when opening my Games shortcut as a context menu caused Explorer to crash and restart. I do have a LOT of games in that list though and it can take 10-15 seconds just to populate the first time I open it! One minor quirk I have noticed though is that when I uninstall a Windows 10 app from the Windows 10 Start menu (by right-clicking and selecting Uninstall) then its shortcut is still left in the Universal Applications con
The taskbar texture in v1.0 is not working for me... Also, I reported the Cortana and Task View buttons swapping around with v0.99 and was told that it would be fixed for the final v1.0 release. Well it is still occurring on my system unfortunately. If I click on Cortana then its icon swaps places with the Task View icon. As I type now the Task View is showing to the right of the Start icon and the Cortana icon is to the right of the Task View icon. [e digicons]:\[/e]
Although I am using the Modern Style with the Modern theme to get around the 512 apps limitation of the default Windows 10 Start menu (it does not show ALL the installed apps and programs), I would also like to see a hybrid of the existing Modern theme with the tiled interface of the default Windows 10 Start menu.
The Windows 10-style *is* the default Windows 10 Start menu hence why you are experienced the 512 app/program limitation. Until Microsoft fix that "issue", which also affects me as I have 1,119 apps and programs (mostly games [e digicons][/e] ) installed on my machine then you will have to use one of the other Start 10 themes. I would recommend the Modern Style with the Modern theme (Windows 10-inspired look) as it does show all the installed apps and programs (so
I have been using Start10 v0.57 since I installed Windows 10 Pro on 16th July and Start10 v0.99 beta for a couple of days now. I really like the improvements and changes from v0.57 to v0.99, especially the inclusion of the proper Windows 10 Start menu icon and the ability to skin the custom Start menus. I have not experienced any major bugs or issues, although my Games menu, like with Start8 previously, still takes 10-15 seconds to populate fully (can Start10 save a database of the games list
A workaround posted by mansonfamily on the Guru3D.com forum: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5030264&postcount=99 Quote: [i]" Found a temporary fix for conflict with ObjectDock : start the game with a shortcut key ( ex.
Have you tried a SFC scan for any possible issues? It sounds like something is corrupted, RE: the error message. Have you re-installed ObjectDock recently?
Well I haven't reinstalled ObjectDock recently but the point is that stbarrett and myself are having a problem ONLY with ObjectDock and Assassin's Creed: Rogue. For all we know, we may be only the two people so far using those two pieces of software together.
I was just about to post the same error myself but I was unable to take a screenshot. Assassin's Creed: Unity and Black Flag both work fine with ObjectDock so it is strange that Rogue doesn't, especially as it seems to be using the same engine, for the most part, as Black Flag. Would be nice to have the option to add exclusions to ObjectDock to work around this issue. In the meantime, you CAN play the game fine by unloading ObjectDock. Not an ideal solution but
Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center 64-bit WindowsFX 5 v5.12 EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 with v331.58 WHQL driver 1920x1200 This issue that has occurred throughout every version of WindowsFX 5 I've installed... namely, that if I set the Animations for opening windows from the Open section to anything other than the Default animation then the Backup and Recovery > Create bootable media option in Acronis True Image 2013 appears blank.</p
Yes!! please add back the Windows Logo from the button selections. i dont like the new default one
I don't either but although the white one is now gone there is a blue alternative one under the Custom options (you have to manually select the image file). Unfortunately, while this one matches the design of the white (on black) one used by Windows 8.1 RTM, it's placement and size means that the button icon vi
Can you please update Start8 so that it adjusts its height automatically, depending on how many pinned applications are added to the Start menu. This is how the Start menu worked in Windows 7. Currently, the option to display X number of pinned shortcuts in Start8 is proving very inflexible to me because if you have less than X then there's a blank area of wasted space and if you have more than X then all the pinned shortcuts are not displayed (Start8 doesn't even scroll down to show
This issue definitely needs to be fixed IMO. On Windows 7, whenever I used to pin an application to the Start menu then it would automatically adjust itself to show as many as the screen height could allow before resorting to scrolling down the ones it couldn't fit on the screen. On the Start8 menu, I either have to set at least the number of applications I have pinned to the Start menu or else lose access to some pinned applications, say, two if it is set to show 20 items
I've upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro RTM over the weekend and while Fences v2.11 appears to functionally work fine, I've noticed that the windows themselves don't appear to draw in properly on booting to the desktop. The bottom edge extends further down for some icons than others so it isn't a straight edge. Hitting F5 to refresh the desktop fixes it but this is not an issue I ever noticed while using Fences on Windows 8 Pro. If required then I can upload a screenshot show
My Start8 updated to v1,29 beta last week while I was still using Windows 8 Pro but I noticed that the default icon for the Start button, which was previously the white Windows 8 logo, changed to an odd looking one with a mix of solid and outline squares, which I didn't like at all. The Custom options only have one in blue but at least it is the same design as the white one I was using previously so I switched to that. My first thought on upgrading to Windows 8.1 Pro over the week
Yes, I can upload more screenshots but you clearly see the issue I'm describing in the screenshot I linked to in the opening post.
No, they're not. This 'glitch' only appears to occur with Portals and not normal Fences as you can see from the screenshot I linked to. The only Portal is the one called Games; the others are standard Fences with normal looking text. Just look at the 3DMark03 text in the Demos and Benchmark Fence for example and compare it with the Dead Island Riptide text immediately above it in the Game Portal. Why does this happen? I've also noticed that the emboldened look
I've been using Fences for months now and I really like it, particularly as my desktop no longer gets messed up when I install drivers or whatnot. I several standard Fences on the desktop and two large Portals, each on different 'screens' which I can flick backwards and forwards too in a tablet-like manner (another great feature). However, whereas the standard Fences display icon text in a normal way, the Portals appear to display emboldened ones which makes them harder to
Thanks Nakor. I just redownloaded Decor8 v1.05 beta again through Stardock Central and although the file appeared to be identical to the others, this time it installed and I'm no longer shown any outstanding updates. Stardock Central now shows Decor8 v1.05 beta installed and not v1.02 as before. Issue solved then. :)
