I updated to win 8.1 then updated Start8 to Vs 8.30 & now Start8 just doesn't work. I haven't seen an activation limit warning or any other errors ,,,, but yesterday while I was in the park I did see a Duck with One leg. Anyway I reinstalled Start8 1.30 but it just won't do anything,,, it's a bit like my Missus. What should I do about it,,, other than to get rid of the Missus?
As the topic heading says, I love fences so much but I just cannot stand to use it any longer on Windows 8. My PC boots up almost instantly without Fences installed, it takes just a couple of seconds to be up & running from log in. But with Fences installed it can take up to 50 seconds from log in to actually be able to do anything from the desktop, which is way too long. It has a few other minor glitches too so even though I love it once it's up & running

Windows 8 Pro 64bit There is no right-click option to remove/delete a fence. Everything else is there: Configure fences, view, sort, organize, refresh etc. & there is nothing in any of these settings sub-menu's either. So how do you get rid of a fence without having to uninstall the full program? EDIT: Don't worry about an answer Fences is too slow at boot-up anyway & adds an extra 20 seconds because windows 8 starts it last
Updated Start8 with the latest version of Start8 & now windows 8 search doesn't work. I type in a word to search & nothing happens,, it just sits there like a stale bottle of beer. Anyone else noticed this after updating?
OK Start8 works great most of the time but when I switch users it always reverts back to the win 8 Metro desktop. Then you have to click on desktop to get back to the Start8 desktop. It's not a big issue but it's a pain. Is there a way around this behaviour?
I installed Fences on a windows 8 Pro OS-64x that also has Start8 installed. It seems to work OK once the PC gets going,,, but Man O" Man,,, it takes forever for Fences to finally load & show up on the desktop at boot-up. Once the desktop & Taskbar has finished loading it takes approx. another 40 to 60 seconds for the Fences to finally show up on the desktop. This wait is "WAY" too long. I have checked the auto start items &
