I might have found the cause: The spell withered was cast on that city bevore attacking, so the enemy units had the negative withered effect. If you load the save, wait 3 turns for withered to withere away and then attack, infection works fine again.

Version 1.5r - crash everytime when casting infection with the skeleton king. It does not crash if spell is resisted. should I upload a save or the debug.err? the debug file is rather long. how do i insert a spoiler thing here?
