I think we should have the opportunity to increase 3-soldiers troop into 4-soldiers troop or more. Make the gildar cost higher with the troop's level, if you will, but please make this possible.
I completely agree. Mages and Archers are the only default ranged troopers, and my high level archers would be much better as a 7 stack at their level than a level 3 7 stack.

It is also similar to a minor bug with Guard. Sometimes if i queue my champ to move a long run from guarding, two turns later i notice they're not there and are still stuck guarding. Have to recommand guard twice or so to cancel the command then I can move them. When I had a guy wanting to explore, I toggled explore a few times with them and it fixed the problem.
I would rather see a way to upgrade a 3 stack into a 4/5/7 stack so those level 12 troops in your main army who are still stack 3 can bump up to stack 7. It would also make your garrison troops more viable late game (just like seasonal XP) having all those archers you trained back in turn 150 be 7 stack units in turn 600. They may still be level 1, but at least they're not gonna die in one hit from an enemy ranged attack.
Ok, so I'm rocking along with my level 9 units on my main exploration champ's army, with three units per army, and now I've researched the tech that gives me squads. Is there any way to upgrade 3 unit bowmen to 4 unit bowmen? Or am I stuck with training a new green set of troops (maybe + a few levels if trained from my fortress town), hoping they survive enough skirmishes with monsters to be viable vs the other sovereigns? I ask this because late game, with
I'm just upset I can't design an iron golem archer :(
Refined Economics finished its research and then it was still blank in the research tree. Researched it again, same thing. The attached save game is 2 turns from finishing refined economics. Note, I ran into this earlier today doing the tutorial game as well, but I don't remember what tech it was. Link: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B2XjlB7jLx9tUWs0WEM0YWdsb3c/edit
I've really only had the time to set down with this game twice since it was released, so my impressions will be quite different than those of you who've been doing the whole Beta thing. Background about myself: Been playing Civ since Civ2. Experience in TBS genre basically limited to Civ franchise, and although I could regularly beat Civ4 on Prince and sometimes on King, I'm only about a 50% victor on Warlord on Civ5. Never got in on WoM cause it never ever
I have also encountered this bug. FE Scenario, Map 2: I crossed the river NE of the starting town in a NW direction to the small town across the river that starts a mini quest to fight some thieves. After going through the screen for the quest, my party now consisted of 1x Main Hero and 2x each of my other two Heroes. The two dupe sets of Heroes level up independently and make the area very easy.
