I'd give it an 8.0 exactly. It's better than most and worse than many.
Does the Anthys map contain all stamps and all Wildlands?
Looks like I'll be picking this one up as soon as 1.1 is out.
FE does not deserve a 5/5 rating. It's a good game, but 5/5 is reserved for the best of the best, which FE is not.
Life shards bump up the healing spell quite nicely. Also, strengthening that spell might not be such a good idea: with a 2+ caster champs in the stack a strong healing spell would mean that if a unit cannot be one-shotted, it is for all practical purposes immortal.

How many players can the Anthys map comfortably fit?

Adventurer's Guild is only worth building for its recruitment price reduction, and even then only on a rare occasion. Its other benefit is worthless. I hardly ever build it.
They must have used the staff animation for the spears. Lazy-lazy.

Another way to reward not using a shield would be by giving shields an initiative penalty. Say, -1 for the simplest, lightest shield, -2 for the medium ones and -3 for the Heavies.
SotS2 is garbage. Quite a shame really, considering that SotS1 is one of the best if not the best 4x game in recent years.
