Dont know how, but playing with some races i had scouts which could build roads. I must say it was most acceptable option for me. I used one scout and have build rods while scouting at the same time, so my main army was folowing scouts road and picking treasures around and establising new forts and cities. I still would like to split shield bash into "real bash" and "knock back". Of which one would reduce initiative/dmg other - kicks 1 tile off. And obviously i would give knock to non shield units (most likly spearmens, because impale is not often to get a formation so it could be alternative skill to use) and bash to shield units. I like Raza. Only downside is that he cant equip mont so he moves and lvls wery slow and his stones mostly depends on his lvlup so... Yeah i raly would like him to have mount. I am often abusing this: i put it on build list and then pushing it away with other buildings till my city gets enough powerful to build it in much fewer turns then i just releasing it to building. This way i can stop AI from wonders building, buti dont have to waste 20 - 30 turns myself imediately, i can postpone it to more effective moment in future.

They also setling on random treasure chests or uncleared monster lairs just strait on the head of monsters. This made me mad. I have noticed that now monsters tend to leave their lairs ocasionaly and guess what, pioneers of AI just waiting of such an oportunty to pop up there city :D

I think so either: >20 lvl main hero should be slightly better than best equiped top military unit. Otherwise why to bother lvling heroes at all, what for so many eforts for fame ? I think its fine. If your hero gets surounded with 5 stacks of units (while he is lvl 5 besides ???) then: 1. You atacking not your match... 2. You are not doing strategy at battle: block some enemies with other units you have, use bashes to spred them a bit or impale to reduce numbers in stacks. Its realy easy to controll battle and swarm is fine. By the way defender hero realy can hold 3 stacks of skeletons with guard skill and healing spell (or pots).

I would like to offer for shield (as an item) imunity to swarm. This could solve defence (or defenders in general) problem. Because now swarm system makes defenders usless. Armor alone can not stand up swarms no matter what plate will you get on. Otherwise i think units special atacks should still keep swarm bonuss. I mean using cleave is actualy not atractive now because you can get more from swarm. Same goes for maces (even worse because you loose turn). Units with shi

Well i had necromancer hero with soul drain spell (2x lvl damage, if target dies it gives 40 mana). Then i got this OMFG mana shield / mana blast quest. Well as only i managed to beat ridiculous AI new patch came :D So no more 5x hp bonuss for AI >:D Must say ridiculous was more boring than chalenging. Ytrill have spamed me by his 200 hp jugernouts and black dragons sometimes mixed in. Killed hundreds of jugs. By the way, why exp for defeating epic AI army stuffed with tons of jugernouts is lesser than lets say defeating shrills army of 5 shrills ??? Cant get logic here.

All up to ridiculous is not challenging for me so for two days trying beat AI on ridiculous now, but still without any luck. World ridiculous, AI ridiculous, monsters dence, resources plenty, magic moderate. Thats my setup. Have no idea how to beat it yet. Also to the ophidians topic. Can you make heroes not to use spells against magic imune creatures in autocombat ? Its annoying and funny to see how my heroes wasting my mana on those beasts, also on golems. There should be some immunity check rule before spell casting in outocombat. Its obvious that its usless if percentage is 100 to resist.

I actualy liked idea of fighting every tile from monsters so i dont know why to set them to less agressive, better simply make their agressivness to be equal to me as well as to AI. Well i have made my own adaptation: i am not setling more than 5 - 6 cities, - then they all fits in one window line. And i am razing cities i am conquering, replacing them with outposts.
