What's causing them?

Anyone having those? Had one while mousing over the upper left corner of the screen. What might cause this?

Was also wondering how i could delete some of them. Thanks for the answer.

Ever since i played Galactic Civ 2 and its expansion i have been a fan of your games. Bought Fallen Enchantress and was amazed :D Also bought LH and i hope it will be as good as regular FE. This my first post on this forum so i felt i should be praising one of my Favorite developer team.
